Who is Carsten 'Bergie' Bergersen?

Carsten originally hails from Cottage Grove, Minnesota. However, he currently resides in Madison, South Dakota. Carsten comes from an incredibly small town. Carsten has a very emotional connection with his nickname as it has been passed down from his grandfather and father before him. He graduated from Dakota State University in May 2023 with a degree in healthcare. He graduated with a 3.7 GPA and completed two honor societies NSLS (National Society of Leadership and Success) and Tri Beta (Biology Honor Society). Notably, Carsten pursued his graduation while working as a Dairy Queen General Night Manager and a group fitness instructor. Carsten shared on his social media that he will start physical therapy school at the University of Mary in Bismarck North Dakota next fall. Besides his busy schedule, Carsten is quite a blast to hang out with his friends and family. His social media posts featured multiple photos of him having the time of his life surfing, hanging out with his friends, and pictures and videos of him working with his over 900 followers. Carsten's Instagram profile describes himself as 'just a kid that makes ice cream and smiles for a living.' Carsten participated in his first-ever physique show in 2022.

Carsten has never been in a relationship and never had a girlfriend. However, he is an incredibly attentive guy, remembering, 'even the smallest details from meeting someone.' He claimed in the teaser that he could write his girlfriend a love letter. Notably, he even keeps a journal where he writes love letters to his future wife. However, despite having cute traits, Carsten calls himself a 'hopeless romantic'. However, Carsten joined 'Love Island USA' Season 5 to find love.

What is Carsten Bergersen looking for on 'Love Island USA' Season 5?

On Tuesday, July 11, 2023, it was announced that Carsten will be a contestant on the 5th season of the Peacock reality dating show 'Love Island USA'. His aunt also shared the big news on Carsten's social media accounts, writing, "Cheering for Carsten "Bergie" Bergersen! Bergie has the support of his family and friends! I'm Bergie's aunt and I'll be posting for him so you can also support this incredible young man in his journey on Love Island USA." Carsten entered the Fijian villa on Day 1 alongside other Islanders with many hopes in his heart. Carsten joined the cast to make a real connection. He previously had a hard time finding the right girl. He is looking for a woman who shares his values. Additionally, his celebrity crush is Zendaya and if he could find a partner who looked like the actress, it probably wouldn’t hurt him.

'Bergie sitting alone is gonna make me cry'

Despite his charming personality, no one switched from their heart for Bergie, and the viewers were left heartbroken. A social media user tweeted, "Y’all did Bergie dirty." 'Love Island USA' Season 5 premiered on Peacock on Tuesday, July 18. During premiere week, new episodes will be available to stream every day at 9 pm ET. Subsequently, new episodes will be released on Thursdays through Tuesdays on Peacock.
