On the other hand, Devin Hoofman, 25, hails from Arkansas and studied at Arkansas State University Honors College.
The couple appears on the TLC show to make their relationship work and overcome several challenges, including language barriers and family drama.
Cultural differences are a massive hurdle for Nick and Devin
Nick belongs to an Asian family and has grown up with the hopes of always having his parents' support for every major decision in his life, including his marriage.
The move was always going to be hard for him, given the distance between his home country and that of his partner. Devin, who is thrilled to take a new step in her relationship, is unfamiliar with the multiple obstacles that she and Nick would have to face.
They would need to fight for the approval of Nick's Korean parents to make marriage a possibility. It's expected for Devin to have a hard time when it comes to convincing his parents to let him move in with her.
Her fiance, who is 30, recently moved to the US with a K1 visa to be closer to his future wife.
While seeking the permission of parents is one thing, Nick has also found it difficult to overcome cultural differences in a small town in America.

Nick and Devin met through the online dating app Tinder, with the latter deciding to fly solo to Sydney, Australia, to meet her partner.
The couple spent three weeks together and soon developed a deep connection and felt that they were meant for each other. However, by the end of the third week, Nick and Devin were happily engaged.
After Devin returned to her hometown, she realized she did not want to live without Nick. He filed for the K1 Visa, and after two long years of waiting, Nick finally arrived in the US.
