Who are Christina Hall’s parents? HGTV star renovates parents 1970s outdated kitchen on ‘Christina on the Coast’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the premiere episode of 'Christina On the Coast' Season 5, viewers will watch HGTV designer Christina Hall take on a major project: renovating her parents' home.
Christina's parents, Paul and Laurie Haack, have been contemplating a move for some time, but instead, they've opted to remodel Christina's childhood home. However, their emotional ties to the past may conflict with Christina's vision for their future.
In a preview of the upcoming fifth season of 'Christina on the Coast', premiering on Thursday, July 11 on HGTV, the 40-year-old designer turns to her parents for advice as she begins a home makeover project for them.
Despite some initial hesitation, Christina consults with her parents about their preferences and ideas for the renovation. During the home tour, she proposes several design changes, but her parents quickly express their opinions and concerns, which may not always align with their daughter's vision.
As the camera pans over a dining area with a wooden china cabinet, Christina says, "I’d love to open up the wall right here if you could push this wall out. We could do some really cool bi-fold doors like everyone’s doing nowadays and that would be about $175,000."
Her father Paul replied, "I lose part of my backyard but I have hedges and things. And it’s going to look pretty bleak, I think." Christina’s mother, Laurie Haack, added, "And we’d have to replace the floor" "That’s a big deal," her father continued. "I think for now, we should keep it simpler," Laurie says.
Christina, sounding disappointed, told her parents, "Having done hundreds of houses, it is hard for me to hear that I don’t get to take down walls. Obviously I’m going to do whatever you guys want to do, you guys are the client."

She expressed her excitement about featuring her mother and father on the show and hinted at what viewers can anticipate from their involvement in the upcoming season.

'Christina on the Coast' star Christina Hall shares update on her parents' kitchen renovation on Instagram
In February 2024, Christina Hall took to her Instagram account to introduce her parents to her followers and reveal a significant renovation project she is embarking on in their kitchen. The design specialist wrote, "Meet my parents. Who I am FINALLY replacing their 1970s kitchen cabinets.."
"I know I know, how have they not asked for me to redo their kitchen before?! Well… the 1970s cabinets held up well and as my dad says ‘your generation is so wasteful’ 🤣 touché.. and they like to spend their time & money on travel as opposed to their daughter who loves to constantly renovate," she added.
The reality TV personality continued, “Ps I know my parents would be bothered if I didn’t say their home looks like a war zone because we are currently in the demo / mid reno stage and everything is piled in the dining room. 🤭”
'Christina on the Coast' Season 5 premieres on July 11 at 9 pm ET on HGTV.
