The recently released fifth season of Netflix's 'Emily in Paris' saw the titular character of Emily Cooper living her version of 'la dolce vita (the sweet life)'! Between the cobbled streets of Rome and the gondolas of Venice, it felt for a while that Emily had forgotten all about the lights of Paris. However, as the season proved to be a meandering stream moving through channels of despair and passion, Emily couldn't help returning to her moorings. All in all, apart from the stellar performances by the cast and the impeccable storytelling, 'Emily in Paris' Season 5 will be remembered for the use of iconic filming locations throughout Europe. Here's a look at the most important among them.

Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana

This imposing marvel of architecture, located in Rome, is also known as the 'Square Colosseum' and houses the real-life headquarters of the fashion brand Fendi Roma. This is where Emily pitches for her fashion business. In a bid to come across as someone who knows what they are talking about, Emily refers to her grandmother's designer bag, one which eventually turns out to be a replica of an original Fendi bag. The building itself was constructed back in the 1940s and has been featured in other movies, such as Guy Ritchie's 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E'.

The Coppedè District

Named after architect Gino Coppedè, this district in Rome houses several residential buildings. Reports point out that certain houses in the neighborhood were constructed in the Art Nouveau style, while others took inspiration from the Art Deco and Neo-Gothic schools of architecture. The depiction of the Agence Grateau, as depicted in the Netflix show, lies nearby The Palazzo Senza Nom. Emily's agency sails through troubled waters in the fifth season, and for a while, it seemed as if it would go under, if not for Princess Jane.

Villa Parisi

Remember the sprawling palace where Princess Jane graciously held a welcome party for Sylvie and her other colleagues at Agence Grateau's Rome office? That's the real-life Villa Parisi located at Via Mondragone, 2, 00040. This piece of property served a double purpose of letting Sylvie and the audience know about Princess Jane's character arc, one that is indeed royal.

Fondation, Louis Vuitton

Sylvie delivered her talk at the 'Future of Luxury' conference, which was held at a real-life contemporary art museum. This exquisite building was designed by architect Frank Gehry and opened its doors back in 2014. Most of the building is covered in stunning glasswork that takes inspiration from the glass Grand Palais. The establishment houses a grand 350-seat auditorium.

Ostia Antica

Marcello's characterization drives much of the first half of 'Emily in Paris' Season 5. The true bone of contention between him and Emily in their otherwise idyllic relationship is revealed when he wishes Emily to move back with him to his hometown in Solitano. The town itself is fictional, and has been filmed in the village of Solomeo, which is located in the greater Ostia Antica region. Interestingly, the village currently houses the fashion brand Brunello Cucinelli. Fans of the show will instantly recall the pandemonium that ensued after Prince Jane accidentally shared her location with thousands of her social media followers, who flocked to a location that, in real life, is close by.

Venice

The finale of the season was extensively shot across several locations in Venice, as per House & Garden. The cast and crew staged their scenes at Gio's Restaurant, Terrazza Danieli, St. Regis Venice, and at the rooftop hotel located at Hotel Danieli. Moro Restaurant features prominently as well. Several characters were also spotted moving through the picturesque streets and canals of Venice, thereby making sure that the city rises up to the occasion as a narrative backdrop.

Crazy Horse

Upon her return to Paris, Mandy, who was a judge on the Chinese show 'Popstar' on 'Emily in Paris', began frequenting the Crazy Horse. The venue itself is known far and wide as one of the most buzzworthy places in the list of Paris' nightlife attractions. Meanwhile, for those yet to catch up on the latest season, all the episodes of 'Emily in Paris' are available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.
