WOODBURY, MINNESOTA: In the season finale of 'Botched' Season 8, Dr Terry Dubrow assisted Joshua, who had a snakelike keloid scar on his chest. A man who had a large overgrowth of scar tissue running across his chest has recovered his confidence after the unattractive keloids were surgically removed.

And, while Dr Dubrow was a little harsh on himself at Joshua's follow-up session, the patient could not be happier. Despite Dr Dubrow's professional assessment, Joshua viewed his new chest for the first time and said, they look terrific.

Joshua's life has already taken a positive turn less than two months following surgery. Not only did he declare he was 'confident' and 'glad', but the former swimmer is prepared for what's to come.

Who is Joshua on 'Botched' Season 8?

On the March 21 episode of the E! reality series 'Botched,' Los Angeles-based surgeons Dr Dubrow and Dr Paul Nassif met up with Joshua, who stated that the massive, big keloid began to form after he had five heart operations, leaving him with a gigantic scar on his chest. Joshua acknowledged that he didn't pay much attention to it until it became so enormous that he couldn't ignore it anymore.

Joshua had the keloid surgically removed, but a year later he saw it was regrowing, and before long, the scar tissue was the size of his thumb. Joshua went on to explain that after having the keloid removed a second time, everything was fine.

What happened to Joshua on 'Botched' Season 8?

Joshua stated during his visit how his cardiac procedures had resulted in the creation of enormous keloids, and the physicians were concerned about how the scar tissue expansion was hurting his life. Joshua acknowledged that he no longer makes an effort to meet new people and prefers to stay at home whenever possible.

Joshua didn't mind if the doctors couldn't totally remove them; he simply wanted them to be smaller so he could get on with his life. Dr Dubrow was motivated to heal Joshua, so, during surgery, he sliced through each keloid and removed the lumps before reconstructing his chest with the remaining skin.

However, Joshua did not have enough skin left in his chest, since the keloid had eaten away the majority of it. Dr Dubrow accomplished his best with keloid-derived skin.

How much does 'Botched' Dr Terry Dubrow charge?

Dr Dubrow noted that in 'Botched,' they often work on many body parts simultaneously and use expensive synthetic materials. "So the procedure, revisional surgery of the type we do, would vary between $30,000 to probably $90,000 or $100,000," he said.

In an interview with Reality Tea, Dr Dubrow confessed that 'Botched' and its plastic surgery mishaps helped him and Dr Nassif become better surgeons.

"We, surprisingly, even to ourselves, have been able to take patients that even we thought were unfixable... We've figured out ways to fix them, and we now have a different level, a different standard that we're comparing our results to so sometimes," he stated.

Dr Dubrow did admit, however, that it can be a curse rather than a benefit, admitting, "We're our harshest critics. We can't even figure out what's 'good enough' now because we've been able to sort of blow through our own expectations with many of these patients."
