MONROVIA, LIBERIA: Jannie suffered a horrific event as a newborn when she was fed acid, which destroyed her lips and made her feel as if her beauty had been stolen from her. She came on 'Botched' Season 8 to overcome her lifetime gloom and rediscover her inner beauty.

Jannie's mouth was seriously harmed as a newborn by a chemical accident, resulting in scarred lips and making it practically impossible for her to chew and drink. Dr Nassif excised as much scar tissue as possible and repositioned her lip mucosa to make it seem bigger.

Depending on the procedure, minimal edema can last for years afterward, but Dr Paul Nassif hopes to see Jannie's swelling considerably improve in the coming months.

We're not sure where Jannie is since her 'Botched' Season 8 appearance, as she doesn't seem to be on social media. However, just before her E! debut, Jannie's daughter, Raquel, gave her mother a shout-out on Instagram.

Who is Jannie on 'Botched' Season 8?

Jannie, from Monrovia, Liberia, had her mouth burned in an accident when she was 11 months old. Before her first encounter with the 'Botched' surgeons, she had undergone 31 lip reconstructions.

The accident took away her attractiveness. It had been 66 years since her mouth was burned.

Jannie has undergone more procedures than she can count. She still doesn't have a lip she's proud of.

She still has some difficulty eating. The food continues to drop out of her lips.

As per an E! preview clip, if Jannie has surgery with Drs Terry Dubrow and Nassif, she wishes to gather her children and have a wonderful family portrait shot. She wants her children to have a piece of her hanging on their walls.

That would give her the satisfaction she has longed for her entire life. She wants to be close to them as long as possible.

What happened to Jannie on 'Botched' Season 8?

Jannie was the victim of poison. The only thing that saved the 11-month-old infant was that she did not eat it.

Dr Nassif was unsure whether they had ever had a patient on 'Botched' who had undergone 31 lip operations. The more previous procedures there were in the past, the more problematic the following one could be!

Dr Nassif was moved by Jannie's story, especially given that he is a father. He hopes it serves as a warning to everyone to keep dangerous objects out of children's reach!

It was difficult to know that Dr Nassif would be able to help, but not much. He wanted to ensure that he outlined the hazards for her and set fair expectations.

Dr Nassif had to be considerably slower and more thorough than normal while doing Jannie's surgery, since injuring any of the muscles or dividing too much scar tissue may render her lip inoperable. The function of the lips is quite important.

How much do 'Botched' surgeons charge?

In an interview with Allure, Dr Dubrow stated that the E! Network gives each patient an appearance fee, which they may then use to offset a part of the doctor's expenses. Ethically, surgeons who accept that patients must be compensated for their services.

The operation, revisional surgery of the type they perform, would cost anything from $30,000 to $90,000 or $100,000.
