ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Jalissa Darlin, who was born with a cleft lip and palate, had her nose indented following rhinoplasty and believed Dr Paul Nassif could cure it. After meeting with the 'Botched' doctor, Jalissa feels like herself again, and her nose already looks terrific!

Dr Nassif successfully corrected the nose of Jalissa, a woman from Atlanta, Georgia, who had a cleft lip and palate. Cleft Rhinoplasty is a more complicated plastic surgery than a standard rhinoplasty/nose operation.

Jalissa was born with a cleft palate, which required many operations as a toddler. During her final surgery, things went horribly wrong, leaving her with a big wrinkle on her nose.

Dr Nassif provided inner tip support before drawing down her nostril skin to make her nose more symmetrical, and then filling the crease with cartilage.

Jalissa has faced challenges with self-confidence since birth, stemming from her cleft lip and cleft palate condition. Even though the healing process might take years, Jalissa is pleased with the small improvement she saw in 'Botched' Season 8.

Jalissa, 30, underwent seven cleft lip fixes and one rhinoplasty before seeing the 'Botched' Season 8 doctors. To address her flat facial features, metal inserts were surgically inserted.

However, Dr Terry Dubrow and Dr Nassif were both impressed with her prior doctors' cleft palate and cleft lip surgeries. Her lip was open, known as the maxilla in the teeth.

Jalissa was born with a hereditary abnormality known as a cleft lip. At the age of 17, while still in high school, doctors decided to perform surgery on her nose.

Patients with cleft lip and nasal issues often undergo formal rhinoplasty during high school. Unfortunately, for Jalissa, the procedure went in the wrong direction.

Two months after her procedures, she developed a wrinkle on her nose. The doctors didn't properly explain to her what had happened.

Dr Dubrow believes that the crease in Jalissa's nose was created by the cleft lip nasal malformation, even though this will result in some cartilage anomalies. He feels it stems from earlier severe rhinoplasty surgery.

Dr Nassif has conducted tens of thousands of rhinoplasties throughout the years, but he has never seen anything like Jalissa's nose scar before. "It looks like somebody took a knife to my nose," is not something you should remark after a rhinoplasty!

If the nose's skin is exceptionally thick, the healing process may be significantly delayed. In reality, the swelling might take up to three years to completely recede.

If a patient's BMI (Body Mass Index) exceeds 50, Dr. Nassif opts not to use general anesthesia. In Jalissa's case, this meant utilizing local anesthesia. Notably, this surgery marked Dr. Nassif's first experience performing a challenging rhinoplasty under local anesthesia.

Dr Nassif requested Dr John W Frederick to accompany him in Jalissa's operation. The doctors began the procedure by opening her nose and inserting a double-layer diced cartilage glue graft to provide her projection in the middle vault.

They then placed a big columella strut to hold her tip, before removing flesh from underneath her left nostril and pulling it down to make both sides symmetric. Finally, they sought to remove the crease and sew the surrounding tissue together before potentially filling the fissure with cartilage from the cadaver rib or her ear.

Dr Nassif's nose job costs $15,000, which includes surgery, anesthesia, and facility fees. This cost is on the higher end of the nose job range, but it is worth it for the wonderful results that Dr Nassif can achieve.

'Botched' stars Dr Nassif and Dr Dubrow estimated that the type of surgery conducted on 'Botched' may cost up to $100,000.

Consultations are available in person or over the phone for $365.

'Botched' Season 8 airs on Thursdays on E! Entertainment at 10 PM ET
