On Tuesday, April 26, Richard Gere, 72, and his wife Alejandra Silva, 39, made a rare red carpet appearance. The pair posed for some stunning images on the red carpet at the 2022 City Harvest Red Supper Club Gala in New York. 'The Pretty Woman' star and his Spanish wife smiled for the cameras as they stood side by side in their fine clothes. On the carpet, Richard then gently wrapped his arm around Alejandra's waist. Richard sported a white dress shirt, a black suit jacket, and matching slacks and shoes. The Golden Globe winner rocked his typical gray hair and exposed some chest by opening his top button. Meanwhile, Alejandra looked stunning in a dark blue and black dress with strapped black high heels. The blonde beauty also wore a pair of unique, yet elegant, earrings.
How did Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva meet?
Richard and Alejandra began a relationship in 2015, three years before their wedding, after knowing each other for quite some time. Alejandra had a background in activism and public relations. Gere met his then-future wife back when she was a little girl, as he was a family friend of the Silva family. However, the couple was reintroduced by a mutual friend in 2014 at a hotel in Positano, Italy, that Silva was managing. She previously stated in one of her interviews with Hello Magazine, “Richard has known my family for 15 years. When I saw him again in Positano, I reminded him of the story. Our karma brought us together as soon as we saw each other because we’ve known each other over the course of many lives – that’s how we both feel anyway”

City Harvest is New York City's largest food rescue organization. The organization collects food that would otherwise go to waste from restaurants, bakeries, and cafes. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the gala has been canceled for the last two years.
