Richard Gere welcomes first child with wife Alejandra Silva, 36, ahead of his 70th birthday
Congratulations for the couple are in order, for Richard Gere and his wife Alejandra Silva have reportedly welcomed their first child, a son she gave birth to in New York City.
The 69-year-old actor and his 36-year-old wife became proud parents to a newborn baby boy "a few days ago." The news of the newborn was revealed by Spanish magazine Hola!, and it comes just seven months before the Hollywood screen veteran celebrates his 70th birthday.
The couple, who are yet to release the name of their newborn publicly, first broke the news of the pregnancy in September last year.
The Spanish model shared a photo of herself and husband Gere meeting the Dalai Lama, where he could be seen putting his hand on her bump to bless the unborn child. Fans of the actor would know that Gere is a long-term friend of Dalai Lama, Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader.
