Richard Gere, 70, and wife Alejandra Silva, 36, expecting second child within nine months of first son's birth
Actor Richard Gere is expecting his second child with wife, Alejandra Silva, who is 34 years younger than him. According to Magazine Hola! The 70-year-old 'Pretty Woman' star is due to welcome another baby just nine months after the birth of their son Alexander. Alejandra, 36, gave birth to their firstborn in February and she is already three months into her second pregnancy.
Both Richard and Alejandra have children from previous marriages. While the former shares Homer James Jigem, 19, with ex-wife Carey Lowell, the latter has six-year-old Albert with ex-husband Govind Friedland.
The last time, the couple announced their good news to the world, it was only after the Dalai Lama had personally blessed their baby bump. "Getting blessings for our precious to come... We couldn't announce it before telling HH Dalai Lama", Alejandra said, posting a picture of the special moment.
They are yet to formally make an announcement of their second pregnancy. Richard and Alejandra tied the knot in April 2018, in a civil partnership ceremony in Spain. Later, they threw a wedding reception for their friends and loved ones back at the actor's ranch just outside New York City.
"I feel like I'm in a true fairytale. Without a doubt, I feel like the luckiest woman in the world", Alejandra said at the time. Her sentiment was echoed by Richard, who said that he had to repeatedly send his wife flowers before she agreed to go out on a date with him. "I'm the happiest man in the universe. How could I not be? I'm married to a beautiful woman who is smart, sensitive, committed to helping people, who's fun, patient, who knows how to forgive, who's a great cook – and who makes the best salads in the world!" he said.
Richard Gere's first wife was Cindy Crawford, whom he divorced in 1995.
