‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ trailer release rumors gather steam. Here's what we know so far
The rumor mills are churning that a new 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' trailer could be coming soon. Late last week, Hollywood insider and X-user AlexFromCC tweeted that new footage from "may be imminent" as Sony gears up for the film's marketing and promotion.
"There's been some movement from Sony," the tweet read. "Hearing a trailer release may be imminent. No date yet, as far as I know. But the recent movements make me think it could be within a matter of days. Time will tell." While the tweet did generate the buzz, some news outlets believe the news will have to be taken with a pinch of salt. TechRadar said the insider's "track record is mixed at best."
At the time of writing, there is no official confirmation from Marvel Studios about a potential release date. While speculations were rife that BND's trailer would be released in December 2025 after the leak, the focus was taken away by the series of leaks of the 'Avengers: Doomsday' mini-teasers. It's worth noting that Sony and Marvel's decision to delay the release of the trailer to a later date could also be to give Tom Holland's film its share of focus, considering the buzz around a fifth 'Doomsday' trailer.
From what was seen online, the footage was extremely grainy, seemingly recorded off a private screener platform where recording is explicitly forbidden. In one of the most widely shared lines, Peter Parker (Holland) was seen introducing himself to someone who no longer remembers him, saying: “Hi. My name is Peter Parker. You don't remember me, but we knew each other. Something bad was going to happen, and the only way to stop it... was to make everyone forget about me. I'm not just Peter Parker. I'm... Spider-Man," he said.
The plot for 'Brand New Day' has been under wraps, but what is likely is that the events of the film will take place before 'Doomsday'. Holland's appearance as the friendly neighborhood web-slinger will also be the final MCU film before 'Doomsday' and 'Secret Wars'. A new trailer might just offer a look at Sadie Sink's mystery character, while also providing first looks at Jon Bernthal's Punisher and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk. The cast includes returning favorites Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, and J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson.
Previously, Holland weighed in on the movie, saying it was the beginning of something new. "[It] really feels like we aren't making the fourth movie," Holland told Complex. "We're making the first movie in the chapter... This is a rebirth. This is something completely new."
'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' releases in theaters on July 31, 2026.
