'Paradise' Season 2 brings new twists as Hulu's political thriller gears up for a major comeback
The reason behind the debut season of 'Paradise' scoring a resounding home run can be partially attributed to the fact that it presented a rather uncanny world—familiar, yet removed by a willing suspension of disbelief. Sterling K. Brown starred as Agent Xavier Collins, investigating the murder of the President of the United States, Cal Bradford, played by James Marsden, while in a bunker following a mass-extinction event known ominously as The Day. In an interesting turn of events, Dan Fogelman, the creator and executive producer of the Hulu show, has confirmed that the much-anticipated second season will soon be available to stream.
Fogelman, alongside Brown and new cast member Shailene Woodley, was recently in attendance at the Brazil Comic Con's CCXP panel in São Paolo. Responding to a question about the upcoming sophomore season, Fogelman revealed that three episodes from the new season will arrive together on Monday, February 23, 2026, exclusively on Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers, and internationally on Disney+. Following the three-episode premiere, 'Paradise' Season 2 will air new episodes every week.
USA Today also reported that the second season figured out as a "middle ground" for Fogelman's grand scheme of a three-season spanning narrative arc. Fogelman explained, "We have this very precise three-year plan, and this next season coming is kind of the middle episode of our trilogy, with also its own beginning, middle, and end. We have a three-season story that's bigger than what people think it is right now, and it's going to span a couple of genres." To this effect, a new teaser trailer for the sophomore season has been making the rounds. In it, Collins does indeed venture out of the bunker, only to find that what he previously knew about the post-apocalyptic outside world might not stand the test of truth.
In terms of the plot, the debut season ended with the shocking revelation that President Bradford was murdered by none other than Paradise librarian Trent. EW reported that the plot synopsis for the upcoming season reads: "Xavier searches for Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins." The cast once again includes Sarah Shahi, Julianne Nicholson, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Enuka Okuma, Krys Marshall, Aliyah Mastin, Charlie Evans, and Percy Daggs IV, according to Variety.
Brown himself opened up about his character's trials and tribulations in the upcoming season, according to IGN. While speaking at the CCXP panel, he said, "So three years, being in this isolated thing from the rest of the world, thinking that the rest of the world has been destroyed, that nobody else existed. Then I finally go out into the world, and I see that people, they have survived. If everybody's scared at everybody all the time, then it's just war. At some point in time you'll have to come together and fight as a team." The first season of 'Paradise' is available for streaming exclusively on Hulu.
