When will 'American Ninja Warrior' return? Show goes on 2-week break to accommodate Stanley Cup final game
'American Ninja Warrior' was pushed from its original airtime to accommodate the Stanley Cup final game 6. Episode 3 of the competition series will now air on October 5 at 8/7 c. Since the announcement came only a few hours prior to the time the show was supposed to air, a section of the viewers was left confused, mostly disappointed because they were hoping to catch some fierce ninja action on TV.
A fan asked why couldn't NBC air hockey on its sports channel, while another was taken aback on finding out that there will be no new episode of 'ANW'. Meanwhile, participating athletes have done their job by announcing on their own pages that the show will not be on this week and that fans will have to come back next week to catch a new set of ninjas doing what they know best — cruise through some of the toughest hurdles to hit the buzzer and qualify for the next round.
"I was looking forward to this. Why couldn't NBC put the Stanley cup on their sports network instead? I want my American ninja warrior please. Oh well I'll wait until next week," a fan commented, while another shared: "Wait, I'm tryin to watch @ninjawarrior and we've got fkn hockey? What's going on?"

"I'm back for my 5th season of American Ninja warrior! My episode was supposed to air today but got pushed back to next week because of the Stanley cup. Make sure to tune in October 5th for an exciting episode!" competing athlete Michael Torres announced on his Facebook page.
"It is an honor just to be even mentioned in the same sentence as these two amazing athletes! This year I was invited to be on a team with @michaeltorresanw and @thedeafninja to compete in this covid induced abbreviated season 12 of @ninjawarrior. Tune in October 5th at 8PM CST on NBC to see skill, speed, and grace on the obstacles!" Ninja Jimmy Choi posted on his page, to which a fan responded: "Looking forward to it! Of course I was hoping it was tonight."
