'When the Weather is Fine' Episode 13: Hae-won tries to figure Bo-young's hatred but learns the wounds run deep
'When the Weather is Fine' Episode 13 begins with Eun-seop (Seo Kang Joon) receiving a call from Bo-young (Im Se Mi) and she informs him that she has hurt her leg since she slipped and she wants his help. When Hae-won (Park Min Young), who is with Eun-seop at the time learns of Bo-young's request, she decides that she will be the one to go and get her instead and from the looks of it, she intends on drawing a strict line between Bo-young and Eun-seop.
When Hae-won asks Bo-young why she didn't act on her interest all this time, but has decided to take a step now when Hae-won was with Eun-seop, she tells Hae-won about all the times that she had tried but had failed because the timing was just not right. She also accuses Hae-won of coming in Bo-young's way intentionally when the two were in school by sitting next to Eun-seop. However, Bo-young had never told Hae-won who she had a crush on when they were in school so Hae-won is purely frustrated about hearing Bo-young's version of her story. What is it about Hae-won that made Bo-young so twisted, wonders Hae-won and we are not sure if the blame lies with Hae-won in the first place.
However, what is impressive is that Hae-won doesn't let all of this influence her relationship with Eun-seop. Hae-won even finds out the Bookstore Diary that Eun-seop had been keeping since he opened the store and she reads everything about Irene, aka herself, in the diary. She ends up reading almost all of his 133 posts and even reads it all back to him.
Things that she didn't know about, like how he was the kid who gave her a bug when the two were young or that he was the kid who was asleep in her guesthouse one day when they were young. What she didn't expect to see was how Eun-seop had assumed that she would leave Hyecheon one day. She is shocked, but how would she even attempt to face it all. Even she isn't sure that she would stay back in Hyecheon and to speaking to Eun-seop about it would mean that she would have to make up her mind about where she stands on moving back to the city as well.
The episode also draws relationships between friends quite well. For instance, this friendship between Bo-young and Hae-won that was fractured because Bo-young couldn't keep an important secret has been festering all this while and it had resulted in one final confrontation between the two. Hae-won finally got the apology that she deserved, but along with it, she also realized her relationship with Bo-young wasn't strong enough to be able to air out their misunderstandings.
Shim Myeong-yeo (Moon Jung Hee) Hae-won's aunt is also going through a crisis of her own. She hopes that the love of her life, editor Cha Yoon Taek (Hwang Geon), who is pursuing her to publish a book based on her life would leave her. After her brother-in-law had died, Myeong-yeo had broken up with him to ensure that he did not have to live with a murderer, but because she hadn't given him a reason for their breakup he tries to get in touch with her again. She hopes that this time, she can really get him to move on from their relationship and she does everything to ensure that he will no longer be obsessed with this relationship.
