As the year is coming to an end, so is Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). From 2021 to 2022, Phase 4 of MCU has given the audience much to look forward to as it was the first part of 'The Multiverse Saga'. Phase 4 began with the series, 'WandaVision,' which premiered in January 2021, and is concluding with the television special 'The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special,' in December 2022.

Even though there will be an interval after Phase 4 ends, Phase 5 surely has some exciting projects aligned for the audience. After much confusion regarding the release date first film of Phase 5, the creators finally scheduled 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,' to be released on February 17, 2023, in theaters near you. Nevertheless, the upcoming phase will also include the ensemble 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,' 'The Marvels' starring Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, and Iman Vellani, 'Captain America: New World Order' starring  Anthony Mackie (who used to be Falcon in the precious MCU movies until an elderly Chris Evans' Steve Rogers (Captain America) passes his shield to Falcon), and lastly 'Thunderbolts,' starring Mahershala Ali.

The star of the hour is 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' as it is one of the highly anticipated and the first films of MCU Phase 5. The 'Ant-Man' trailer showed Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) living a relatively normal life post-Endgame (like Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton is shown in 'Hawkeye' of Disney+). Until, of course, he, Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), his daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) all get sucked into the Quantum Realm, where they meet Bill Murray (cast as an undisclosed villain role). The trailer then cuts to another scene, where Kang the Conquerer (Jonathan Majors) has captured both Scott and Cassie. Scott tells Kang that he’s an Avengers, to which Kang responds: “I’ve killed you before.” But he’s not interested in killing this universe’s 'Ant-Man'. Kang needs his help to get something back that someone stole from him.

Now, isn't that interesting? 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' is intended to be the sequel to 'Ant-Man' of 2015 and 'Ant-Man and the Wasp' in 2018.' It is also the 31st film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The movie is helmed by Peyton Reed from a screenplay by Jeff Loveness.

According to Collider, Peyton Reed teased the sequel will be "bigger" and "more sprawling." He said, “There are some really really really exciting things in store, none of which of course I could speak to you about right now, as is the Marvel way, I think the third Ant-Man movie is going to be a much bigger, more sprawling movie than the first two. It’s going to have a very different visual template.”

'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' comes to theaters on February 17, 2023.
