What is Season 2 of 'Smother-in-Law' about? Plot of Brazil's sitcom explained
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Smother-in-Law', also known as 'A Sogra Que Te Pariu,' Netflix's first Brazilian multi-camera sitcom, is back with Season 2 in which Dona Isadir finds a way to stay with her son Carlos and daughter-in-law Alice while also trying to disrupt their lives. The show is based on the cliche that mothers-in-law and wives start competing for the man's attention and affection as a son and as a husband.
The script for the sitcom was created and co-written by comedian Rodrigo Sant'Anna and Wagner Trindade. The show is directed by Alex Cabral and produced by Os Suburbanos Produçes. The Brazilian comedy series, which was shot in Rio de Janeiro, reached number six on the streaming service's Top 10 Global Non-English Language Series list with its debut season.

Season 2 begins with Dona Isadir, who is characterized as annoying, renting out her apartment in Cachambi and making herself at home at her son Carlos and daughter-in-law Alice's mansion in Barra da Tijuca unannounced, where they live with their children Jonas and Márcia.
Throughout the ten episodes, Dona Isadir attempts to disrupt the lives of those around her and will go to any length to avoid returning to her small apartment. The grandchildren are also caught in the crossfire, while Marinez, the family's longtime employee, takes center stage to witness everything.
Season two 'Smother-in-Law' will premiere on Netflix on April 13, 2023.
