The high-stakes world of 'Landman' Season 2 returned with its eighth episode, and things look fiercer than ever for Billy Bob Thornton's Tommy Norris. With just two episodes left before the season finale, the latest chapter, titled 'Handsome Touched Me', focuses heavily on the offshore natural gas rig crisis threatening the M-Tex. Meanwhile, Cami Miller (Demi Moore) faces a tough choice in the episode that could either help M-Tex recover or worsen its financial troubles.

'Landman' Season 2 Episode 8 sees Cami turn down Rebecca Falcone (Kayla Wallace) and Nate's (Colm Feore) plan to take the legal route and choose to rebuild the offshore gas rig. While the lawyers believed that going to court was safer since there was only a 10% chance of accessing the gas, and litigation would limit financial losses, Cami decides to take a major risk after learning that a successful drill could earn M-Tex billions rather than millions. Her bold move causes serious tension within the company, with Tommy, Rebecca, and Nate worried that she may be risking M-Tex's entire future if the gamble fails, as per ScreenRant.

On the other hand, Danny 'Gallino' Morrell (Andy Garcia) is completely unaffected by Cami's gamble. When Tommy tries to scare him off by pointing out the low chance of finding gas, Gallino reveals he never loaned M-Tex the money; he invested in it. His deal guarantees him long-term royalties from the company's land leases, meaning he stands to make millions each year even if M-Tex fails. He makes it clear that he isn't concerned about Cami's success or failure because his investment guarantees him profits either way.

Gallino even suggests that a failed rig might be better, as Cami could walk away comfortably, while he remains the only one who truly benefits if M-Tex falls apart. Meanwhile, Rebecca and Charlie Newom's (Guy Burnet) relationship begins to fall apart after Cami chooses to rebuild the offshore rig. Rebecca blames Charlie for pushing Cami toward what she sees as a risky decision, leading to a heated argument. Charlie fires back by accusing Rebecca of trying to control him, a comment that deeply affects her and forces her to confront her own control issues and the impact they have on her relationships.

The episode also featured a key personal moment between Tommy and his father, TL Norris (Sam Elliott). After TL injures himself, Tommy hires Cheyenne to help him recover, which also helps mend their strained relationship. Cheyenne represents the growing bond between father and son, making it the first time Tommy does something kind for TL simply because he wants to. Fans will now have to wait until January 11 to learn the fate of M-Tex and the outcome of Cami's gamble when 'Landman' Season 2 Episode 9 drops.
