The highly-awaited reunion of the 'Supernatural' trio — Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, and Jared Padalecki, finally happened on 'The Boys' Season 5. Episode 5, titled 'One-Shots,' introduced Collins and Padalecki as Supes Malchemical and Mister Marathon, respectively. The three actors became household names for their performances on 'Supernatural,' and their reunion also sent fans on social media into a tizzy. The major plot point sees Mister Mararthon and Malchemical attempt to convince Soldier Boy to turn against Homelander (Antony Starr). However, the team-up is short-lived and culminates in a brutal showdown that leaves both the supes dead.
Social media was abuzz. "Kripke really dragged the entire Winchester family into The Boys just to watch them argue about killing Homelander while casually dropping Herogasm reference," one of the posts read on X. "The way they killed off people this episode was funny except for the last one," another added. "Bro, Homelander got knocked out. I did NOT see that coming," a fan wrote. "Sam Winchester repeatedly swearing is so funny," a comment said. "They did so well! And seeing the other cameos was such a fun surprise too," a tweet read. Collins' death left a fan heartbroken: "Misha didn't last even 5 minutes."
In related news, Ackles had shed light on the reunion. "We spent almost two decades together… It's like watching your son go up to bat for the first time," he told Entertainment Tonight. "That's how I felt. Of course, they did great. We had a great time. It was disgusting, it was outrageous. I think there were multiple days where we looked at each other like, 'What are we doing?' But we're used to Kripke's universes, so it wasn't that shocking. Having us together, it was weird working on camera with them playing different characters than we're used to playing. That was a little tricky; it took us a few takes to shake that out."
As for Episode 5, the series suggests the action is far from done as it racks up the body count. Also dying, in addition to the two supes, are a string of actors playing themselves. Craig Robinson, Will Forte, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Seth Rogen, and Kumail Nanjiani — all of whom were seen chilling at Mister Marathon's mansion, only to be killed by the supe as collateral damage. Fans can catch the entire action on Prime Video, with Episode 5 available for streaming.
