Seth Rogen dropped a major update on 'The Studio'. The Apple TV musical series, after winning its Golden Globe for best comedy, has now begun production on season 2, with work set to start on the floors next week. Rogen revealed as much to the press backstage at Sunday’s kudocast.

"We’ve literally written some things that happened leading up to this award show into episodes as we’ve been writing the show," Rogen told, per Variety. "We start shooting in a week. So yes, several things have happened, both today and leading up to this event that we have written directly into the show, and you’ll probably know what they are when you see them."

He added that there could be some cameos from stars during the awards, who pitched themselves for an appearance in the second instalment. "A lot of people literally just come up to us and were like, ‘Put me on your show. I’ll do anything. I’ll walk by!” Rogen added. "It’s very lovely. The head of Sony, Tom [Rothman, the chairman and CEO of the Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group]. I love that real studio heads want to be on the show. Such as? The head of Sony, Tom (Rothman). A lot of the studio heads want to be on the show. Ted (Sarandos) kind of ruined it. There are a few people we roped in tonight. This is a good poaching ground for us."

"This is so weird! We just pretended to do this. And now it is happening!” Rogen spoke after accepting the Silverware on Sunday. "I thought the only way I would get to hold one was to create a show to give myself a fake one." The series' win comes after it made a splash during the Emmys last year, raking in 13 of them to break the record for most wins for a comedy series.

The series follows Rogen's Matt Remick, the new head honcho of  Continental Studios, as he navigates the challenges of making marquee tentpole films and dramas. 'The Studio' also stars Catherine O’Hara as Patty Leigh, a former boss at Continental who later becomes a producer, Ike Barinholtz, who plays Sal Saperstein, a Continental exec and friend of Remick who becomes a big star at the Golden Globes, Chase Sui Wonders, who plays junior executive Queen Hackett, and Kathryn Hahn, who plays marketing boss Maya Mason. Guest stars in the first season included Anthony Mackie, Dave Franco, Ron Howard, Olivia Wilde, Martin Scorsese, Charlize Theron, Sarah Polley, Greta Lee, Zac Efron, and Ice Cube, all playing themselves.

'The Studio' Season 1 is streaming on Apple TV+.
