GRENADA, CARRIBEAN: In the world of 'Below Deck,' crew drama is never in short supply. A preview of Season 11 Episode 14 hinted at a potential conflict between Chief Stew Fraser Olender and new chef Nick Tatlock. Fraser believes that Nick could improve his plating skills.

During a clip from Monday's episode of 'Below Deck' Season 11 set to drop on Monday, May 6, 2024, Fraser asked Paris Field, "How do I not rudely say, 'Are you going to garnish the plate?'"

The stewardess suggested enhancing the guests' eggs benedict, but the food professional ignored the suggestion. When asked to add a little garnish and drizzle to the meal, Nick replied, "[The primary] said no oil."

During their discussion, Fraser made it clear to Paris that there are numerous choices for garnishing besides just an oil drizzle. He suggested that tomatoes or small berries could also be used to enhance the dish. Reflecting on the situation, Fraser said, "Oh my God, what a disaster."

Despite this, the guests were still pleased enough to snap some pictures of their meals and it appeared quite beautiful through the lens of their cameras.

When did Nick Tatlock join the cast of 'Below Deck' Season 11?

Our introduction to chef Nick Tatlock came during 'Below Deck' Season 11 Episode 13, where he was tasked with catering to a group of food influencers on their first charter. His initial task was to whip up some delicious octopus nachos, a dish that impressed the guests but left Captain Kerry Titheradge slightly underwhelmed.

Despite this setback, Chef Nick redeemed himself by preparing a stunning feast of the seven fishes for a festive Christmas party, earning rave reviews from all in attendance. The guests thoroughly enjoyed their meals and made sure to snap photos of every dish for their Instagram.

In a confessional from the episode, Nick shared, “I’ve been a chef for 22 years. I think I lost my mind a long time ago. Maybe, I talk to myself too much, I have a few little ticks and go a little bit loopy sometimes, but I’m harmless crazy. You know, I’m not about to murder anyone.”

Nick boasts a decade of experience in the yachting industry and is described as an avid viewer of the show, according to his Bravo profile. During his downtime between charters, he relishes spending quality time with his loved ones, exploring Nicaragua, and residing in Palma.

Nick Tatlock replaced Anthony Iracane on 'Below Deck' Season 11

In 'Below Deck' Season 11 Episode 12, which premiered on April 22, Captain Kerry was faced with the tough choice of letting go of another crew member. Ultimately, Chef Anthony Iracane was the one who received the news of his termination.

The French chef, who was well-liked by the crew, found himself increasingly challenged in the kitchen with each passing charter due to the demanding preferences and requests of the guests.

Despite his popularity, the chef's struggle culminated in the crew receiving their lowest tip of the season, with the guests expressing dissatisfaction with the food provided. As a result, Kerry ultimately made the tough choice to dismiss Chef Anthony Iracane from his role on the yacht.

"I think you're an incredible chef. Your food is absolutely amazing. But, you're starting to kind of nosedive," Kerry said. Soon after, Anthony replied, "I don't really know what you're talking about."

Kerry proceeded to address several recent criticisms aimed at the chef, touching on the quality of his dishes, the precision in timing meals, and his overall attention to detail in the kitchen. These critiques highlighted areas where the chef could potentially improve and enhance the overall dining experience for customers.

Kerry concluded, "This is not the right environment for you, mate. You're not flourishing here... If I keep you here any longer, I'm going to set you up for disaster. I'm doing you a favor."
