NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Wendy Williams' life has taken a downward spiral after her abrupt talk show cancellation in 2021, including being cut off from her "$10 million" annual paycheck, according to recent court documents. According to court documents acquired by The Sun, her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, recently petitioned for the continuation of his monthly payments from the popular host, as per their divorce arrangement.

Wendy's ex stated in the surprising court statement that his monthly payments, which were given by the star as agreed in their divorce, abruptly halted in February 2022. Kevin petitioned the court to appoint Wendy's guardian in order for her "to make payments as contractually required under the MSA and Severance Agreement." Wendy was appointed a financial guardian earlier this year. Kevin stated in his statement that he is completely reliant on the payments agreed to in their marital settlement agreement to survive.

Wendy's lawyer resisted Kevin's claim, pointing out that her client had not earned money since October 2021, only one month after the final season of the famous talk show premiered. Wendy was absent from the show for the full season because of a number of health issues. Wendy's counsel claimed, "On October 15, 2021 plaintiff was informed by Talk WW that her contract was being suspended and that no compensation shall accrue or be payable to plaintiff for the duration of plaintiff’s disability and incapacity."

Wendy's counsel referred to the divorce settlement agreement, which was signed by both spouses in January 2020. "If, for any reason, [Plaintiffs] contract with Talk WW is not renewed and/or is otherwise suspended, canceled, or terminated and [Plaintiff] does not have any other television show being aired and paying her an equivalent salary, [Defendant] understands and agrees that all Severance Payment shall be subject to either termination or modification," the lawyer wrote, referencing the divorce agreement.
The former TV host's lawyer went on to say that her client has not been paid by Talk WW since October 2021. "She presently has no other television show being aired and paying her any income, let alone an equivalent salary," she stated.

Wendy allegedly earned $10 million per year as host of 'The Wendy Williams Show,' or $55k for each episode. Wendy's bank accounts were frozen in January after Wells Fargo became concerned that she was a "victim of undue influence and financial exploitation." Wendy flatly disputed the accusations. Wendy was placed under permanent financial guardianship in May, according to press reports.
