'Welcome To Plathville' Season 4: Ethan sympathizes with Barry after finding out about the divorce
The Plath family has certainly been dealing with a lot of changes ever since Season 1 of the show. The family that was once deeply rooted in religion is now making a pivot, with Kim deciding that she wants a divorce. For Kim, she's spent the past 25 years raising kids and now has no intention of living that way. She has been rather vocal about wanting to put her happiness first, now, it seems to be affecting the family dynamic.
With the kids aware that Barry and Kim are getting a divorce, Ethan was the last one to find out. With Ethan refusing to meet with Kim, he agreed to see Barry instead. Barry took this chance to come clean to his son about what had been happening in the house.

As the older kids sat down with Barry, he explained to Ethan what was happening. He told Ethan that they were facing issues and how it all came about to be. Ethan sympathised with his father, seeing that he and Olivia had also split a while back and understood where his father was coming from.
