'Welcome To Plathville': Will TLC's hit reality show come back for Season 2? We don't think so

'Welcome To Plathville' left people glued to their screen with Season 1, but sadly there are chances that it won't be coming back to the screen.

'Welcome To Plathville' followed the lives of the Plath family, which consisted of Kim and Barry Plath and their nine children. The family became famous for their lifestyle which involved staying away from social media, not consuming any sugar, and being homeschooled while staying in their 55-acre farmland.

However, the show became popular for the relationship dynamic between Kim and her daughter-in-law, Olivia Plath. Olivia and Kim are poles apart when it comes to their way of living life and it slowly starts to affect the family. While Olivia's husband, Ethan, is supportive of her decision about how she chooses to run the household, Kim and Barry, on the other hand, think that Olivia is a bad influence on the children.

They go to the extent of refusing them permission to meet the other Plath children, if they are not in the house. Looking at the family drama and the tension that exists between all of them, fans were hooked to the show. Unfortunately, the show ended with a total of seven episodes leaving the fans craving for more.

However, a second season to the show seems unlikely as the relationship between Kim and Olivia has headed for the worse ever since the show ended. Speaking to YouTuber Katie Joy, Olivia revealed that Kim had asked her to come to the show because they were going to get a lot for putting their life out there.

But Olivia added that the show's narrative was tuned to favor Kim while showcasing her in a bad light. She had addressed this issue on Instagram, revealing that she will be taking a break from social media after she received backlash for her appearance on the show.

"Having your in-laws speak ill of you on national TV, and dealing with narcissistic behavior, emotional, psychological and spiritual abuse every day, then you can’t understand my story and don’t have a reason to tell me why I’m doing everything wrong," she wrote.

She continued, "Those three things are hard enough, and when displayed on TV, they are even harder because you suddenly have a peanut gallery with you. I made many mistakes during the filming of the show (the first one being allowing myself to be manipulated into doing it by family) and I’m not afraid to own up to that."

While Olivia has taken a break from social media, it looks like she will not be coming back for another season of the show. Since Olivia and Kim's storyline is a crucial part of the narrative, it seems unlikely that the show will come back for a second season, but things might just change if Olivia decides to make a return.
