'Watchmen' Episode 9 'See How They Fly': Fans are already debating over Season 2 possibilities after the show's killer ending

Most fans of the original 'Watchmen' graphic novel by Alan Moore weren't very comfortable with the idea of the book being adapted into a TV show. But at the end of Season 1, not only has HBO's 'Watchmen' satisfied fans but it's also got them wondering if there's more to come

Damon Lindelof's 'Watchmen' TV adaptation/sequel has finally run its course and the show has ended with a bang in Episode 9 'See How They Fly'. It has been an amazing season so far, filled with twists and turns that took almost everyone by surprise.

Most fans of the original 'Watchmen' graphic novel by Alan Moore weren't very comfortable with the idea of the book being adapted into a TV show. But at the end of Season 1, not only has HBO's 'Watchmen' satisfied fans but also got them wondering if there is more to come.

Right after the final episode aired, fans began taking to Twitter to discuss the possibility of 'Watchmen' getting a Season 2. Here are some of the tweets shared online:

"I already miss #Watchmen. Season 2 NOW", said one fan. Another fan shared, "Wow, that was a helluva first season. Now the big question is... what on earth is gonna happen next season?".

"@HBO better keep this amazing show going as long as they can keep the stellar cast, writing and production. A truly spectacular experience and a world with a superpower Angela Abar would be incredible," pointed out one fan.

Of course, there are a number of reasons why the show may not get a second season, chief of which is that Lindelof's vision for the show did not extend beyond the nine episodes we've gotten so far.

Some fans seem to feel that that's just the way things ought to be because 'Watchmen' as it stands today is easily one of the best TV shows of the decade. Here's what they had to say:

"If there’s a second season of Watchmen, Damon Lindelof has already said he doesn’t want to. So do we risk another season if the showrunner doesn’t have the same vision?" said one fan.

Another fan pointed out, "#Watchmen stuck the s*** out of that landing! Regardless the future of the series, this season of television stands strong on its own. And from this day forward, I worship at the altar of Regina King!"

A third fan shared, "I'm honestly fine if they leave it at that. Perfect extension of the source. Lindelof said it’s relief if one leaves thinking this".

The ninth and final episode of 'Watchmen', 'See How They Fly', aired on HBO on December 15.
