'Vikings: Valhalla' Season 3: With Hárekr gone, what's next for Freydís?
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The final and third season of the renowned historical fantasy drama series 'Vikings Valhalla' is geared up to dominate fans' hearts from Thursday, July 11, 2024.
The second season of the show was highly intriguing, with our main characters navigating their own journeys.
Freydís Eiríksdóttir (Frida Gustavsson) strives to fulfill her destiny but faces grave threats from Lord Hárekr (Bradley James) and Jarl Olaf Haraldsson (Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson).
Although our courageous Viking warrior successfully outwits the men and stands as the uncontested monarch of Jomsborg, the path ahead is not as simple as she would want.
What happened between Lord Hárekr and Freydís Eiríksdóttir in 'Vikings: Valhalla' Season 2?
Lord Hárekr, the ruler of the pagan Viking town of Jómsborg, names Freydís high priestess with the purpose of building a new Uppsala.
Freydís soon finds the terrible truth of Jómsborg, where some people are regarded as second-class citizens and refugees are pushed into slavery.
When she attempts to integrate the migrants, Hárekr exposes his real objectives, ordering their slaughter and imprisoning Freydís and after she gives birth, Hárekr keeps her baby with him.
Shocked by Hárekr duplicity, Jorundr Torvilsson (Stanislav Callas) attempts to help Freydís to flee, but sadly, he is apprehended, prompting Freydís to leave her alone, leaving her baby son behind.
Freydís, later, arrives to retrieve her son but is dominated by Hárekr until the crowd helps her and begins to pelt stones at him, stoning him to death.
What will be the next course of action for Freydís Eiríksdóttir in 'Vikings: Valhalla' Season 3?
Although the release of the third and final season is just around the corner, nothing can be said about Freydís plans after Hárekr's death. However, we may still speculate about Freydís next move.
It is quite probable that she will try to establish her authority and concentrate on integrating the various groups in Jómsborg, such as the refugees and second-class residents who were previously persecuted by Hárekr.
Freydís will also concentrate on the community's spiritual and cultural components in her role as high priestess.
A difficult situation for Freydís and her people is also suggested by the show's trailer, as they go to find a new village to call home in the midst of hardship in Jómsborg.
