‘Vanderpump Rules’ star James Kennedy has made a mark for himself as the eccentric DJ on the show. While he’s known for his scathing remarks against his co-stars or his temper tantrums, there’s another side of him which we haven’t gotten to see much. Did you know that James’s godfather was none other than late singer-songwriter George Michael!

In case you’re wondering how the legendary singer and the reality star's worlds meet, then you’re at the right place. The famous pop-star and James’s father, Andros Georgiou, grew up together in Cyprus and were reportedly very close friends, as per Bravo.

When George made it big in the 80s, Andros managed George and even started a record label with him. The two were so tight that when Andros had his children, George not only became their godfather but was also very actively involved in his godchildren’s lives. He reportedly helped Andros give James his first bath and attended all of James’s rehearsals and events at school.

But unfortunately, a few years later, the two friends had a fallout and didn’t speak to each other for several years. Following George’s death, on an episode of ‘Watch What Happens Live’, he shared some fond memories of his godfather to Andy Cohen.

James revealed, “He was a family member and was there when we were growing up, so it was two sides, I guess. His music changed the world, but he also was just a normal, beautiful person at home."

Just like his godfather, James is battling addiction. The previous season of ‘Vanderpump Rules’ saw the DJ go off the rails after getting drunk. He, in fact, constantly made body-shaming remarks against his fellow cast member Katie Maloney-Schwartz, which ultimately led him to be fired from the restaurant. The current season sees the DJ struggling to get his addiction under control.

Watch ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Season 8 every Tuesday at 9/8c only on Bravo.
