The second episode of 'Van Helsing' titled 'Dark Ties' saw Julius (Aleks Paunovic) training Hansen's (Neal McDonough) daughter Violet, a formidable fighter. Eventually, the duo head to an excursion to Lowtown where they get separated. Violet gets ambushed by a group of vampires and despite Julius' attempt to rescue her, gets bitten.  However, to everyone's surprise, Violet's blood ends up curing the attacking vampire and the bite seems not to have any effect on her, just like with Vanessa Van Helsing (Kelly Overton) and Vanessa's sister Scarlett Harker (Missy Peregrym). After getting her safely back home, Julius takes some of her blood to Doc and asks her to test it because he thinks Violet maybe another lost Van Helsing.

The upcoming episode, 'Love Less' had its promo out and sees the return of a familiar face in Axel Miller (Jonathan Scarfe). The marine is seen rescuing an enigmatic Max (Richard Harmon) from a vampire who later gives him a job offer. Axel is introduced driving a beaten-down truck where he's on the wheel guzzling whiskey when he sees Max whiz past him in his car. Unknown to Max, there's a vampire in the backseat and attacks him. An amused Axel watches all this before blowing the vampire's head off.  At the moment, we're yet to see what Harmon's role is in the series and whether 'The 100' actor will make a one-episode only appearance.

Ahead of his introduction in 'Love Less', Scarfe had spoken to KamloopsMatters about what to expect from his character in the new season. "Where we left him at the end of last season, he was sort of at his lowest point, because he just lost the love of his life", Scarfe said. "I think he is lost when we find him at the beginning of this season,” Scarfe says. "I think the journey this season is him trying to find his way back to humanity."

Wonder what's in store for Axel this time around.

'Van Helsing' Season 4 Episode 3 'Love Less' will air on Syfy October 11.
