'Snake in the Grass' on USA Network: Rachel Reilly talks about making her 'Big Brother' earnings work for her

USA Network has given us multiple genres for every mood. Its latest release is as wild as its sounds — 'Snake In The Grass'. The cast of the series are from some popular shows that you might have heard off. 

Participating in the survival game is Rachel Riley, the 38-year-old American television personality. Reilly has appeared in two seasons of the US edition of the reality TV series 'Big Brother', winning season 13 in 2011.

Who is Rachel Riley?

Rachel Eileen Reilly Villegas is an American television personality, talk show host, actress, and reality show participant, born on October 16, 1984 in Concord, North Carolina. She graduated from Northwest Cabarrus High School in Kannapolis, North Carolina in 2002. Rachel's debut in television was on 'Big Brother' in its twelfth season, which aired in the Summer of 2010. After her eviction, Reilly later returned to the house as a guest for one day as part of the "Pandora's Box" twist. As a result of her ninth place finish, Reilly became the first member of the Big Brother jury, and eventually voted for runner-up Lane Elenburg to win the $500,000 prize.



 

She also appeared in the 'Big Brother' season thirteen and was the final winner. Following this win, she also made her appearance in 'Big Brother' 14 and 15. The day following her 'Big Brother' win, Reilly and Villegas appeared on CBS' 'The Talk'. In January 2012, CBS confirmed that Reilly and Villegas would compete on season 20 of 'The Amazing Race'. In 2013, Reilly began appearing in a Hollywood production of 'The Real Drunk Housewives of San Fernando Valley', a musical parody of the television show.

What was Rachel's stint in 'Big Brother' all about?

Rachel started her career with the debut in 'Big Brother' season 12. After which she eventually made it to season 13 as part of a "Returning Duos" twist. Reilly won $500,000 for winning the show. She spoke to Big Brother Network about her plans after her winning the massive amount stating,  "I definitely want to complete my master’s, finish it and work on it, Brendon will finish his PHD at UCLA so maybe I can go there too." 

Rachel also talked about her marriage with Brendon being on the cards. “Plan my wedding, my future with Brendon, we are thinking about putting a down payment on a house close to UCLA. We will be there for five years guaranteed. So we’re thinking hey if we’re going to be there for five years let’s invest that money into a home and start a future and in the coming years start a family."

Now 11 years after her big win, she recently shared how she actually spent the money she won. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said "I made my winnings work! Haha! I helped with my hubby’s schooling, I bought a house, had 2 babies, invested and saved some of it."
