'Unhinged': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and everything else about the Russell Crowe-starring thriller
It’s not often we see Russell Crowe don the garb of a full-blown maniac, but when we do it’s always a treat. ‘Unhinged’ in that regard looks promising already. Directed by Derrick Borte, and written by Carl Ellsworth, ‘Unhinged’ is a psychological thriller that begins in the unlikeliest of places: a traffic jam.
Release date:
‘Unhinged’ will hit theaters July 1.
Plot:
Per IMDb, ‘Unhinged’ is a psychological thriller that takes "something we've all experienced -- road rage - to an unpredictable and terrifying conclusion". According to the film’s tagline, “He can happen to anyone.”

Trailer:
The first trailer for ‘Unhinged’ dropped on Tuesday, May 12, and it sets the tone for the film well. It starts on an overcrowded highway, where everyone is stuck in traffic. When Rachel and her teenage son cut the queue and move ahead, they make an enemy they did not expect. The man follows them ahead, trying to coax an apology out of them. When he doesn’t get one, things get from bad to worse.
In the trailer, we can see Crowe’s anger building over time, as he constantly repeats the phrase “bad day”, implying that this would not have happened had he been having a good day. The stalking that initially seems just creepy, turns full-blown crazy when he tracks down and beats up Rachel’s ex Andy, reaches their home and generally becomes relentless in his pursuit of them.
The trailer ends with the man steamrolling a cop car with a truck. He obviously means business. And he definitely does not care for consequences.
