'Unfrosted' is an upcoming comedy film that will be released on Netflix on May 3, 2024. The film is written and directed by legendary comic Jerry Seinfeld and is based on a joke he told about Pop-Tart pastries. 

The project was announced in June 2021 with Netflix winning the rights to this film. Filming for this movie began in May 2022 and the film was shot in Los Angeles and University of California. The film also got a tax credit to film in California. 

The film was slated to release in late 2023 but it got delayed and is now releasing in May 2024. 'Unfrosted' was also promoted at the Golden Globe Awards by Jim Gaffigan.

What is the plot of 'Unfrosted'?

'Unfrosted' tells the story of two business rivals Kellogg's and Post Cereal competing to create a pastry that could change breakfast forever. The events of this film take place in 1963 in Michigan.

'Unfrosted' borrows from real-life events but it is a fictional story of ambition and betrayal told comically. The story is loosely based on the creation of the Pop-Tart pastry as a breakfast option and the corporate war that ensued for the creation of the pastry. 

The official synopsis of 'Unfrosted' reads, "In a time when milk and cereal ruled breakfast, a fierce corporate battle begins over a revolutionary new pastry. A Pop-Tart comedy from Jerry Seinfeld."
