'Twenties': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about BET's queer comedy show

A queer African American woman, Hattie hangs out with her two straight best friends, as they all try to navigate through life to make their dreams of making it big in Hollywood come true.

Who doesn't love a life full of glitz and glamour? It is a dream-come-true for anybody to make it big in Hollywood. But it is not all that simple, not for everyone, especially the queer community and not everybody welcomes them with open arms.

Loosely based on this premise, BET is coming with a brand new comedy TV series. The unique feature of this show is that it is a single-camera comedy series and the first season will consist of eight episodes.

This comedy show is scheduled for release sometime early in 2020. 

Plot

A queer African American woman, Hattie hangs out with her two straight best friends, as they all try to navigate through life to make their dreams of making it big in Hollywood come true. 

Cast

Jonica T Gibbs

Jonica, who is also known as "Jojo", is a newcomer in the industry and she will play the role of Hattie in this show. She is known for her role in 'Good Double', 'Bro/Science/Life: The Series and 'The Neighbors'. 

Christina Elmore

Christina Elmore plays Marie (Getty Images)

Christina is an actress and writer who rose to fame with her work on 'The Last Ship', 'Fruitvale Station' and 'What if He Wins'. She will play Marie in this comedy TV show.

Gabrielle Graham

Gabrielle Graham plays Nia (IMDB)

Gabrielle is a Canadian actress who is of Jamaican and Montserratian descent. She is famous for her role in 'In the Shadow of the Moon', 'The Expanse', 'Lucky Day', and 'On the Basis of Sex'. She will play Nia in BET's queer comedy TV show 'Twenties'. 

The show will also have Jenifer Lewis, Rick Fox, Vanessa Williams, Seth Green, Iman Shumpert, Kym Whitley, Chuey Martinez, Marsha Thomason and Nazanin Mandi as guest stars throughout the episodes.

Lena is a producer and writer known for 'Master of None', 'Ready Player One' and 'The Chi'. The Primetime Emmy awardee is the director of this TV show, 'Twenties', on BET.
