ABC’s hit vintage game show ‘Supermarket Sweep’ is back in its reboot version and no one is happier than executive producer and host Leslie Jones herself. As a child Leslie adored the show, "I just loved the whole game," Jones says. "And I had a mission of winning that $5,000 (grand prize). Back in the day, $5,000 was a lot of money. Now, I didn't know the taxes involved and I probably would have walked away with, like, $16.62, but I still wanted to win that money. It was just such an exciting show" says the ‘Saturday Night Live’ veteran.

Right now, people all around the world are living in a time when a trip to the market can be its own stress test. Not too long ago, grocery stores were temporarily closed and when they reopened, mask-clad customers waited in long lines, (separated by six feet) and when they finally got a chance to shop, they would find most things had run out of stock. So there is something refreshing about watching a fully stocked grocery store where people are running around in their carts, grabbing all sorts of things they need for the game.

The show premiered with two back-to-back episodes of 30 mins each, for its second episode the three chosen pairs were, ‘Team Collard Greens’, ‘Team Bagel’ and ‘Team Tangerine’. Granddaughter and Grandma duo, Morgan and Frankie of ‘Team Collard Greens’ are determined to win. Morgan tells Leslie no one can call her Frankie. She doesn’t like that, she prefers ‘momma’ to which grandma agrees and says, “Yes, I am everyone’s momma,” to which Leslie retreats saying, “Will you make sweet potato pie for me?” and we can tell she will. ‘Team Bagel’ probably consists of the most fashionable duo Kelsey and Patrick. Patrick has a denim company where he designs all his jeans. He doesn't shy away from giving a little twirl and posing in his self-made khaki denims. Last, but definitely not the least were married couple, Sarah and Chris of ‘Team Tangerine’. Sarah reveals that Chris used to be a transgender woman and went through an operation to become the man he wanted to be. They have been married for five years and went through the process of transition together. Chris’s bravery and the love between the couple earned them a round of applause from Leslie and the other contestants.

The teams played the mini sweeps solo. Momma, Kelsey and Sarah played the Logo motion challenge where they needed to guess the brand from the outline of its logo appearing on the screen and Kelsey does horribly. Then the remaining three played the Slogan Challenge where they had to guess an item from a slogan. After that the teams together played the round of Scrambled Eggs where they had to rearrange the letters on each egg to form a word that is a grocery item.

Momma and Frankie move on to the final round but they sadly couldn’t win the prize money. Michael Perking, a staff member working at the grocery store received a shout out for being ‘Employee of the Week’.
