NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Monday, April 24, Fox News announced that top-rated host Tucker Carlson had parted ways from the network. Online users' reactions to Carlson's unexpected firing have undoubtedly been mixed. Some thought his show was the best, while others disagreed with his ideas and were relieved that he had been fired.

Carlson's final day of hosting his talk show 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' was on Friday, April 21. His primetime slot will now be hosted by temporary hosts until a permanent replacement is found. Carlson, 53, became Fox's most popular personality after replacing Bill O'Reilly, who was fired in 2016 after a sexual harassment probe was concluded.

'I already miss Tucker!'

Fox stated, "We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor," according to USA Today. Carlson did not preempt the news on Friday's program, and Fox never offered him the chance to address his audience. He, however, ended what wound up being his final performance by saying, "We'll be back on Monday; in the meantime, have the best weekend."

Many people have reacted to Carlson being fired on Twitter with one person writing, "I already miss Tucker! His program was one of the good ones. A shame!!" Another person wrote, "32million viewers a night. I would say he had a following and I would say somebody was a little nervous that with an election coming up, Tucker was getting close to something important." One person wrote, "What has happened about Tucker Carlson??? I pay extra $$$ each month just so I can watch Tucker Carlson and Fox News because I live in Canada. I am going to cancel my subscription if he is no longer with the network. He was my favorite!"

A few, on the other hand, were happy that Carlson had been fired. One person sharing a video tweeted, "Republicans are having a meltdown over Tucker Carlson getting fired from Fox News. It’s hilarious to watch! But the rest of America and I are celebrating." Another person wrote, "He was the biggest racist I have ever seen on TV his laugh gave him away. I congrat Fox for doing the right thing much too late as he has done much harm to the fiber of our beautiful country." A third person wrote, "It's a bit disturbing he wasn't kicked off the air a long time ago after seeing some of these comments he made." One said, "Best day ever." Another person wrote, "Greetings, people! Happy Tucker Carlson’s firing to you all!"
