LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The latest German movie on Amazon Prime Video revolves around a backpacker's struggle to free herself from the locked trunk of a car and retrieve her memory, Deadline reported.

Sina Martens ('The Perfumier', 'Tatort') will portray Malina in the suspenseful thriller 'Trunk'. Malina wakes up disoriented and learns to her distress that she is losing more than just her memories. She fights an uphill battle to survive as the car hurtles inexorably toward a horrific mystery, her cell phone serving as her last connection to the outside world. No matter what happens, she will never be the same.

'Take viewers on a wild ride through all the emotions'

While conversing with Deadline, Amazon Head of German Originals Philip Pratt said 'Trunk' will “take viewers on a wild ride through all the emotions.” He added that more movies “in this realm” could be on the horizon from Prime Video and said he is interested in “fun, entertaining shows with action.”

Produced by German indie production house Outside the Club, the film bears elements of claustrophobic single-location action films like Ryan Reynolds' 'Buried'. Writing, directing, and producing duties are shared by Marc Schießer and Tobias Lohf.
