The penultimate episode of 'Treadstone' titled 'The Seoul Asylum' has finally started to solve the puzzle that is Operation Treadstone. The episode begins with CIA agent Matt Edwards calling an inspector in Amsterdam, to get support to run an operation to find the truth about Treadstone and how Senator Eamon Wray (Tim Ahern) and former KGB agent Yuri (Merab Ninidze) are connected.

This leads CIA special agent Dan Levine (Michael Gaston) to bring Ellen Becker (Michelle Forbes) onboard the underground CIA syndicate operation which uses Cicadas to support the government. She doesn't want any part of it, but Dan forces her into taking charge with proof of her involvement in the operation.

After all, she did give the command to Agent Edwards to bring in Cicada Stephen Haynes who was shot dead by the CIA in the previous episode. Once she is on board, she learns Senator Wray had an understanding that Yuri would help the U.S. by supporting North Korea's Colonel Shin plan a coup against the current government.

However, things are not going according to plan because Yuri has now sold a nuke to the North Koreans to orchestrate a coup. This would definitely result in a war that the CIA is not ready for.

In the meanwhile, we see Tara Coleman (Tracy Ifeachor) who arrived at Petra's (Gabrielle Scharnitzky) door last episode try and convince her about why it is important for Petra to reveal the truth about Yuri and his connection to Stilleto Six. Petra, who was betrayed by Yuri, has reasons to not believe a word Tara is telling her, but somehow, the desperation in Tara to bring the truth to light convinces Petra.

She begins by taking Tara to the backyard where Stiletto Six is currently being kept, but she reveals that the warhead of the nuclear missile is currently missing. Tara, who finally has clear proof of a story she was shamed for, cannot breathe a sigh of relief because now there is a big chance the missing warhead can be used by the North Koreans anytime.

The only Cicada in place to stop Colonel Shin is SoYun (Han Hyo-joo) and she is currently at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, South Korea. In the last episode, she had broken up a meeting between Colonel Shin and Yuri. Now, she seeks asylum for herself and her family.

Especially considering the fact that her husband Dae is being set up to take the blame for the missile that will be set off soon on Colonel Shin's order, SoYun, is desperate. Becker, who is now onboard the syndicate operation uses this as an opportunity.

Levine tells SoYun the U.S. can grant her and her family asylum if she manages to remove Colonel Shin. She agrees. In the meanwhile, Becker decides to activate a cicada in Moscow to take out Yuri.

She is certain that the only way to stop the coup from taking place is to stop the trade that is set to take place between Yuri and Colonel Shin. So, she orders that a cicada in Moscow be activated.

The biggest twist of the show possibly occurs here. We see Tara's phone ring and the music is the one that is used to wake Treadstone operatives. When Tara looks at her phone, she sees a picture of Yuri, and she wakes up to fulfill her task in the presence of Petra.

Will she complete the mission or will Petra interfere with the CIA's plans? This we will see only in the finale set to air Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on the USA Network.
