John Bentley, a former CIA operative, who happens to be one of the first individuals to be experimented on with subdermal messaging is desperate to get his memories back. Bentley (Jeremy Irvine) doesn't remember what he did, or how he lived when he was captured by KGB agents.

The plotline, set in 1973, saw Bentley remember his time in KGB's care in episode 6, especially his relationship with Petra (Emilia Schüle) after he gets high on what looks like an LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide) strip.

Bentley realizes he was programmed through torture and was assigned targets. He also recalls torturing his friend from the CIA, who was sent to track Bentley down and rescue him. In the end, because he is under the influence of LSD when Petra's team tracks him down, he is unable to escape.

Another interesting piece of information that we can gather from this episode is the fact that Petra's relationship with Bentley goes beyond being a handler. Of course, this may not influence her too much. We did see in the present that Petra puts her operation and her country over everything else.

Speaking of the present, two of the most active Treadstone operatives -- Doug and SoYun -- are struggling to deal with the consequences of being a part of a black ops team in the past. Especially SoYun (Han Hyo-joo), who is in Pyongyang, North Korea. Her husband has been taken as collateral by Colonel Shin who woke SoYun up.

Her son has also been taken away from her to be taken care of by her mother. This was after SoYun was shot by Nira Patel (Shruti Haasan) in the previous episode. She was not provided any help, and neither was she rescued by anyone.

Yet, she is informed by Colonel Shin that she will soon receive another mission. He also makes it clear that her family will stay safe only until she carries out her missions and for now, SoYun has no other option but to follow orders.

Doug (Brian J. Smith), on the other hand, saw his wife, (Sam Tess), who happens to be a former CIA employee herself, kill the man sent to be his handler. In this episode, he tried to keep a lid on his secret getting out by trying to shut his friend Mike up, who saw him at the pill factory, where Doug had taken out a target.

Turns out, Mike has already betrayed him and this results in Doug being approached by another CIA agent who tries to bring him in. Unlike SoYun, Doug succeeds at escaping from this agent as well, and in fact, follows the agent back to Louisville, Kentucky, where he uses a listening device and finds out the agent is planning on clearing all the loose ends including Samantha and Doug.

Then, we also have Agent Matt Edwards (Omar Metwally) who is tracking down the woman who woke Haynes (Patrick Fugit), another Treadstone operative. However, in a shootout, the woman who could have led them to the brain behind the operatives being woken up, is killed. Now Matt is left with no other leads and his boss Ellen Becker (Michelle Forbes) is now shutting him down as well.

Will SoYun, Doug and Haynes be able to escape from the fate of being a Treadstone operative? This is something that we should watch out for in the upcoming episode of 'Treadstone' which will air Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on USA Network.
