Travis Scott has announced the release date and shared the title and cover art for his new song for the upcoming spy film 'Tenet'. The 'Astroworld' rapper took to his social media to share the new details on Tuesday, August 18. Monikered as 'The Plan', Scott's new track is releasing on Friday, August 21.

"FLAME x CHRIS NOLAN COOK UP THE PLAN FRIDAY," Scott wrote on Twitter with the track's cover art featuring the film's protagonist played by John David Washington.

Directed and produced by Christopher Nolan, who has graced the world with famous head-scratchers 'Inception', 'Interstellar', 'The Prestige' and more, the ideas behind 'Tenet' have been conceived by Nolan for over 20 years while the script has been worked on for around seven years. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the movie has been delayed three times. Other stars in 'Tenet' include Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Michael Caine and more. The film is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures in the United Kingdom on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, and in the United States on Thursday, September 3, 2020, in IMAX.

In a new interview for GQ, Nolan described Scott's musical contribution as the “final piece of a yearlong puzzle”. Nolan described Scott's insights with a lot of praise, saying, “His insights into the musical and narrative mechanism [composer] Ludwig Göransson and I were building were immediate, insightful, and profound.” Of 'The Plan', Nolan said, “His voice became the final piece of a yearlong puzzle.” Scott revealed that he has watched the Nolan movie. “I can't even explain it,” Scott said when asked about the film. “You literally just have to watch it. It's very fire.”

While Travis Scott gave us his third studio album, 'Astroworld', in 2018 and his joint rap project 'JACKBOYS' in December 2019, the rapper has been quite busy in 2020. In April, Scott gave a live performance within the virtual space of the popular video game, 'Fortnite'. Scott's concert was called 'Astronomical' and was performed 'The Scotts' with Kid Cudi. Fans called it "unreal", "iconic" and "one of the COOLEST events yet!" and 'The Scotts' also received notable critical acclaim, that debuted at No.1 on the Hot 100 chart.

Another Kid Cudi collaborative effort for 2020 will be an entire album, which Scott revealed in the GQ interview. Scott was hush about offering details, but he did confirm that they've been working on a joint album and apparently have already cut a bunch of records together. When asked what he and Cudi have in store for the project, he said, “Man, a lot. Some fireness!”
