NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Hit Radio personality Howard Stern claims to be "dumbfounded" by rockers like Kid Rock and other artists' backlash against trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney working with Bud Light. The fiery controversy stemmed from Mulvaney's announcing she was the brand's latest ambassador, after which a MAGA-hat-wearing Rock, 52, posted a video shooting hails of bullets at packs of Bud Light. He was later joined by country stars Travis Tritt and John Rich in boycotting the beer.

"I thought there must be a piece of this story that I'm missing," Stern, 69, said on his long-running 'The Howard Stern Show' on Monday, April 10. "I'm not bothered by gay people or transsexual people. They don't impact my life, they don't hurt my life. I love when people are in love. You wanna be a woman? Be a woman. You wanna be a dude, be a dude. Be whatever you f*****g want. As long as you ain't hurting anybody, I'm on your team," Stern claimed.

What is the Dylan Mulvaney-Bud Light controversy?

The popular TikToker and influencer Mulvaney first posted a sponsored Instagram reel on Saturday, cracking open a regular can of Bud Light, chatting about NCAA's March Madness tournament, and promoting the brand saying she received a special can with face to celebrate the year anniversary of documenting her transition. Explaining his confusion the Sirius XM host said he wished he could invite Rock on his show and ask him why he was so "upset" and "hurt" by the campaign. "Kid Rock, I know him. He’s got a great life. He transitioned from some kid in Michigan to a rock superstar! I’m really dumbfounded by why someone would care so much that they would blow up a can of Bud Light and say, 'F**k Anheuser-Busch.' I don’t get it," Stern went on.

The comedian also pointed out that Rock is "flamboyant in his own way" often appearing on stage clad in a "feather boa, maybe a mink coat." He added, "I feel Kid Rock, his songs are all about living life the way you want, 'I’m doing my thing man and f**k you if you’re not with me."' Stern then added, he would even like to have Tritt on the show after the country singer claimed he would be removing the beer from his rider. Furthermore, in response to the rising Mulvaney uproar, Anheuser-Busch defended working with the influencer adding he also supports his marketing team. "Anheuser-Busch works with hundreds of influencers across our brands as one of many ways to authentically connect with audiences across various demographics," the brand said.

"From time to time we produce unique commemorative cans for fans and for brand influencers, like Dylan Mulvaney. This commemorative can was a gift to celebrate a personal milestone and is not for sale to the general public," a press release continued. In another statement, Anheuser-Busch confirmed that rumors about him firing his marketing team for Mulvaney sponsorship were simply not true. "There is no truth to that statement," the company said, also emphasizing that the one-off can it sent to Mulvaney with her face on it is not available for wider release, reported the source.

What is the difference between transsexual and transgender?

Transgender is an umbrella term that describes those who identify differently from their biological sex: male, female, or intersex. Whereas, transsexual is a more specific term that fits under the transgender umbrella, where one decides to medically seek a physical transition from male to female or vice versa. A person who was assigned female at birth may feel that a male identity is a better fit.

For example, they would use a male name instead of a female name, male pronounces instead of female pronouns. Even choose to dress as a man and engage in activities that are aligned with men in that culture. Those who are transgender use the abbreviated term “trans” to convey the idea of their identity as a transgender man, a transgender woman, or a transgender nonbinary person. Nonbinary is an umbrella term that describes those who have a gender that can’t be exclusively categorized as male or female.

Transsexual people experience their gender identity is inconsistent with their assigned sex, and desire to permanently transition their sex or gender. He or she might take hormones to suppress the characteristics of the biological gender or promote the characteristics of the desired gender and even consider undergoing a knife to align with their desired gender identity. Some transgender people find the word transsexual to be offensive and stigmatizing because of its history and roots in the professional fields of medicine and psychology, which used this term to incorrectly label all transgender people as mentally ill or sexually deviant. With the evolving world, medical fields are now much aligned to the idea that transgender identities are a naturally occurring part of human gender diversity and gender experiences.
