MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Howard Stern, a divisive radio broadcaster, accused Oprah Winfrey, 68, of "showing off" her wealth on social media. Stern, 68, claims that Winfrey, who transformed her successful talk show into a media and commercial empire after it ran for 25 years, "loves showing it off" on social media. On Monday, November 28, he said during his radio show, "Oprah's not at all embarrassed by her wealth."

Winfrey has a net worth of $2.5 billion, according to Forbes, which she has accumulated from her career on talk shows, TV shows, and brand ambassadorships. When proceeds from her program and those from movies like 'Selma,' 'The Color Purple,' and 'Beloved' (which her Harpo Productions coproduced) are combined, they total more than $2 billion.

“It’s f – – king mind-blowing you when you follow her on Instagram. You see her estates, her gardens, the people who service her and, you know,” he added. “Service her? She’s not a car,” his co-host Robin Quivers, 70, interjected. “Well, she kind of is,” Stern rebutted. “She’s got servants and like people cooking and it’s f – – king wild," as per reported by NY Post.

Stern went on to claim that the well-known talk show host "knows" how to be wealthy and "likes" to flaunt it. “Which is something I’m not comfortable with,” he said. “I don’t think that people should show off their wealth.” Quivers disagreed, saying that she is merely utilizing social media to give her followers a glimpse into her life. “Oprah’s just showing you her life. She’s not showing off,” she remarked, prompting Stern to respond that she lacks self-awareness. “Well, you gotta be a little self-aware and know that there are people struggling out there, Robin,” he replied. “You got to. You gotta kind of think about people who don’t have — to eat. You know what I’m saying? I mean, come on. You gotta be a little bit aware of this.”

As usual, social media was quick to respond, with American comedian, Dulcé Sloan tweeting, "So….is Howard Stern mad at all wealthy people or just Oprah? He talkin about Oprah flaunting her wealth bc she has people cooking for her when folks are out here struggling. Bezos built a spaceship and went to space off the backs of his employees.
