The Loneliness of Dylan Mulvaney: Transgender superstar reveals why she struggles to date
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: Dylan Mulvaney, a 26-year-old transgender TikTok star who is popular for documenting her firsts after being a woman in a series called 'Days of Girlhood’ since March 2022, has revealed how she is struggling to get a date and is still waiting to be kissed 'as a girl'. Mulvaney, while giving viewers a peek into her everyday life, said, “I still haven't been kissed as a girl. And I assumed that I would have had that happen before day 365.”
"Every day, I'm realizing that probably won't happen," the trans activist stated, who underwent "facial feminization surgery" in December 2022, and detailed the "insane swelling" from alterations to her hairline, chin, jaw, cheeks, nose, lips, and trachea, reports DailyMail. She said at that time, as per Yahoo!, "The surgery itself took multiple hours. It was the first time I was ever under anesthesia and I don't remember a thing. I had a hairline advancement, a brow bone shave, a rhinoplasty, minor cheek enhancement, a little lip lift, a jaw shave, a chin reduction, and a tracheal shave."

What is facial feminization surgery?
Mulvaney explained, "FFS (facial feminization surgery) is sort of like a 'choose your own adventure'. You can get one of those things. You can get all of them. You can get none of them. It's really whatever you have dysphoria over. I wanted to get everything done in one fell swoop because the recovery process is a lot." According to Mayo Clinic, facial feminization could refer to a variety of surgical procedures that alter the shape of the face to make it appear more feminine.
'Why is no one in the DMs?'
Following the surgery, Mulvaney, who identifies as queer and uses she/they pronouns, told People in the first week of March, “I’m getting a little impatient because, especially when you’re feeling yourself and even looking at that Grammys picture, I’m like, that’s somebody who should not be single,” she said. Mulvaney made headlines as she appeared on the Grammys red carpet last month, looking stunning in a Christian Siriano gown. “But then you’re like, wait, why is no one in the DMs?” she said, and added, "I very much feel like I get a do-over as far as some of those negative experiences that I have had romantically. And I want to do it right this time." She also shared the traits she wants in a romantic partner as she narrated, "I really want somebody to make me laugh because so much of starting to succeed and have these great things come has been a little serious at times, having to put this businesswoman hat on. But I think once I do meet that person that can add some levity, add some lightness back to my life and I know that I can make them laugh in the same way, that is going to be chef’s kiss.”
'I'm not enjoying my womanhood'
However, Mulvaney's authenticity has been questioned. Chloe Cole, a prominent de-transitioner, said that Mulvaney was not a "real trans kid," DailyMail stated. Meanwhile, Matt Walsh, an author and commentator, called her a sick groomer and "some kind of human deep-fake." Talking about the criticism she is facing, Mulvaney told, "I'm not enjoying my womanhood as much as I was. And my pain … is very real."
