'Below Deck Mediterranean': Tom throws a 'hissy fit' over complaints about his food, fans happy to see him fail
Tom Checketts joined 'Below Deck Mediterranean' as Kiko walked out as a sign of his loyalty and support towards ex-Chief Stew of The Wellington, Hannah Ferrier who was fired for carrying and using drugs to control her panic attacks. Tom is Malia White's boyfriend and she offered him the job since they needed a new chef after Kiko's exit and he happily accepted. However, things got real heated too fast for him as he fulfilled kitchen duties on The Wellington. The charter guests were not happy with the food that was served to them and complained to Bugsy who is now Chief Stew, of it being raw. This led to Tom having a meltdown and he was heard saying that this is not what he wanted to do.
He was heard saying that this was a hit on his self-respect and that he knew how to do his job while branding the charter guests as 'idiots'. The food was poached instead of being cooked in a conventional way and that is what made it taste like it did, according to him. He absolutely chose to ignore the claims of the food being raw saying it had been cooking for two hours and that the guests lacked refined tastes. The very next day, he once again at dinner, served poached chicken that looked pink to the guests and tasted undercooked as well. This time too Tom was required to redo the dish as it was sent back from the table by a visibly angry guest.
Tom's attitude hasn't seemed to go down well with the audiences and the fact that he's Malia's (she snitched to captain Sandy About Hannah's drugs and audiences have hated her since) boyfriend is another reason why people are not ready to show him any mercy. "Tom is an a*****e just like his girlfriend. #BelowDeckMed," wrote an audience member on Twitter.

"I thought Tom had worked yachts before? Why is he so shocked with the guests being picky and wanting stuff last minute? That’s the job. That would be like the new second stew showing up and being like “I’m sorry why am I serving bloody drinks to people?” #BelowDeckMed" tweeted another audience member.
