'Tokyo Vice': Release date, cast, plot and everything you need to know about the live-action adaptation of Jake Adelstein's 2009 memoir
'Tokyo Vice' is all set to hit the small screens. The drama which received a green signal from WarnerMedia for 10-episodes is based on the memoir of the same name by Jake Adelstein and comes from J.T. Rogers (Oslo), producer John Lesher and Endeavor Content. This is not the first time that the memoir was attempted to be adapted on screen. Anthony Madler ('All Rise') was hired to direct the film in 2013 starring 'Harry Potter' star, Daniel Radcliffe, but the project was shelved

Release date:
Warner Media's upcoming streaming service won't be up till the later part of the year, meaning we'll probably see 'Tokyo Vice' making its premiere only by the end of 2019.
Plot:
While there isn't any official announcement yet on the plot, it's safe to assume that the story will be based on a 2009 memoir by Jake Adelstein, of his years living in Tokyo as the first non-Japanese reporter working for one of the country's largest newspapers, Yomiuri Shinbun. In all likelihood, the series will try and capture as much of the memoir as it can in the ten episodes that it is greenlit for.
Cast:
Ansel Elgort
Deadline announced that Ansel Elgort ('The Fault In Our Stars' and 'Baby Driver') will play the lead. The rest of the cast is yet to be announced officially and we'll keep you updated when it comes in.
Writer/Director
Award-winning playwright, J.T.Rogers will write the series which will be helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton. John Lesher, Emily Gerson Saines, and Elgort come on board as executive producers.

As reported by Den of Geek, WarnerMedia has chosen 'Tokyo Vice' to be the second live-action series alongside Anna Kendrick and Paul Feig's 'Lovelife.' for the upcoming streaming service.
