NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Happy, surprised, and flabbergasted — that's what ran through the minds of the superfans who were acknowledged by 'Today' daytime star Craig Melvin while they were holding placards outside the studio. The superfans were a mother-daughter duo who held up signs showing their love for the boyband Big Time Rush along with Melvin.

The signs ignited an emotional response from the 'Today' host who has always been lauded by fans for accepting the love audience give him so graciously. Melvin stopped the morning show midway to hug the superfan duo soon after he read the complimentary sign. This emotional gesture from the beloved host showed that he loves and adores his fans as much as they do him.

Ain't Craig Melvin a peach?

Melvin was so moved when he saw the sign that he immediately hugged the elderly woman waving it, which also led to her daughter scoring a hug from the host as well. The sign read 'I love Big Time Rush and Craig Melvin', with hearts drawn all over the sign. The daytime star posted a short clip of the fan encounter on his TikTok with Big Time Rush's hit song 'Boyfriend'. "Best signs ever," said Melvin as he read the compliments held by the women. Since the boy band is back on tour and performed on 'Today' this Friday, the hype surrounding them has resurfaced.

'Melvinators' made him join TikTok

Melvin had only joined TikTok in early May and since then has been subjected to an enormous fan following and love from his admirers. Even though he says that the purpose of joining TikTok was solely to talk about certain unspecified things and provide his own opinion alongside, it is visible that he is having quite a bit of fun on the platform. With 12.9k followers on TikTok already, Melvin says that he is very excited to discover the possibilities of this platform and mostly intends to post about random stuff he finds interesting. In the words of Melvin himself, he is on the platform for his fans who he fondly calls 'Melvinators'.
