'To Tell the Truth' Season 7: Host Anthony Anderson's first attempt at comedy was a disaster
An actor, comedian, and game show host, Anthony Anderson is the Jack of all trades. With so many talents under his belt, there isn't much the man can't do. With Season 7 of the popular and funny show, 'To Tell the Truth' on its way, here's all you need to know about the game show's host.
Anthony Anderson has appeared in several TV shows, some of which include, 'All About the Andersons', ABC's 'Black-ish' as Andre Johnson, and Fox's 'The Bernie Mac Show', during its fifth and final season. Both Anderson and the 'Black-ish' series earned Golden Globe Awards as well as Emmy Awards nominations. Anderson is popularly known for his lead roles in 'K-Ville', 'The Shield', and as NYPD Detective Kevin Bernard NBC's 'Law & Order'. In addition, Anderson has also played key roles in films like, 'Me, Myself & Irene', 'Kangaroo Jack', 'Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London', 'The Departed', 'Transformers', and 'Scream 4'.

Born and raised in Compton, California, Anderson is of both Hausa and Bantu descent. A fun fact about one of the world's most renowned comedians Anderson is that his first attempt at stand-up comedy backfired big time and was an utter failure. The experience gave him the chance to meet his now friend and colleague, actor Guy Torry. The two later acted together in Eddie Murphy's film, called 'Life'.
Aside from his many roles on the film front, Anderson is also a regular judge on Food Network's 'Iron Chef America'. As of 2014, he has been working as the executive producer on ABC's sitcom 'Black-ish'. He has been the host of ABC's game show, 'To Tell the Truth' since its premiere as of June 2016.
Anderson has been happily married to his wife Alvina Stewart since September 1999. The couple has two children, Kyra and Nathan.
