TLC's 'Stuck' is obsessed with ears and things stuck inside them. From the beginning of the season, we've witnessed the many forms of earwax that may cause deafness, as well as how earrings can become entrenched within the ear. Viewers also witnessed how an artificial nail was caught inside a lady's ear. Small objects like candy, beans, and rocks have been found lodged in the ears of newborns and young children, while insects like cockroaches, moths, and flies have been found in the ears of adults and children.

In the recent episode of 'Stuck', we saw a tiny gorgeous child who happened to have a beanbag 'bead' lost inside her ears. Ironically, her mother claims that they haven't had a bean bag in months. So, she and her mother have no idea how long something has been wedged in there. It's strange that something was stuck in the small girl's ear for nearly a month yet she was still able to work and hear fine.

Interestingly, most people use cotton swabs to clean the ears. But have you ever realized that the cotton swaps are the most dangerous item you're putting in your ear? When a cotton swab is used as a plunger in the ear canal, the earwax is pushed further and deeper inside. One issue is that if you push the wax deeper into the ear, there's no way for it to be swept out. Cotton swabs can also pierce eardrums, resulting in hearing loss. In severe situations, the cotton swab can induce full deafness, prolonged vertigo with nausea and vomiting, loss of taste function, and even facial paralysis by damaging several sensitive areas behind the ear canal.

Susan, a patient at the ENT institute White Oak in Newnan, Georgia, arrived with a problem of hearing loss in the episode of stuck. Dr Lynn loves removing foreign things from the ear and nose as part of her job in the ENT department. As the doctor examined her ear, she noticed not just ear wax but a cotton swab that seemed to be ear wax as well. If the cotton swab is left in the ear for an extended length of time, it becomes mixed with wax in the ears and seems to be ear wax. With the help of a medical instrument, the doctor was able to remove the cotton swab from Susan's ears and she was able to hear perfectly. Susan was able to hear well once the doctor removed the cotton swab from her ears using the medical equipment. Dr Lynn adds we have to remove it without causing any discomfort to the patient, no matter what it is or how it got there. She further reveals that in the medical world, they say "never clean your ears with anything smaller than your elbow."
