Why is ‘This Is Us’ Season 5 Episode 7 postponed? Dan Fogelman drops hint for Kevin and Madison: ‘They'll be good’
There'll be more tears than smiles, ‘This Is Us’ fans. No, not because you're going to lose Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley) or Madison Simons (Caitlin Thompson) but simply because there's no episode again.
Titled ‘There’, the summary of the new episode reads, “Kevin embarks on a stressful road trip; Jack and young Kevin go to a football training camp.” Leaving viewers hanging in the air, the promo hints at a car crash and viewers can't help but think the worst. Will someone die? Will Kevin and Madison's relationship survive? Last week, there was a break and before that, the episode didn't air. Get set to have your hearts broken... there's no new episode again. So when can you expect the episode? Read on.
Why does ‘This Is Us’ have so many breaks?
Why does the show have another break? Clarifying the reason, Dan Fogelman posted, “Okay #ThisIsUs devotees - fingers crossed tonight is our last repeat and we are back next week for a few episodes to complete our first half. Sorry for the unusual airing pattern. Simply a result of the late start due to Covid and the recent LA shutdown. On the bright side... They’ll be good. Thanks for hanging in there with us.” So production halts seem to be the culprit here.
In a bit of good news, he also shared, “Congrats in order for the entire #ThisIsUs team on their #NAACPImageAwards best drama nomination! And congrats to youngsters @SterlingKBrown and @skelechiwatson as well as veteran @LyricRoss7 for their individual nods.”
They’ll be good.

What does Dan Fogelman's message mean?
“They’ll be good...” he said in a coded message. What does that mean? It seems Kevin might survive the car crash and Madison might live after childbirth too. What do you think?
Fans can't stop expressing their woes online. “I’m over it, especially now that I read next year is the final season. Seems like there’s still lots of story 2 tell but u want 2 cram it into 1 last season. Plus u never gave a backstory as to a) how Jack’s dad turned into a bully and b) how Miguel and Rebecca got together.” Another posted, “Good to hear that safety is highest priority for staff, but why did the show take a 1.5-month break from early November to January especially in light of the delayed start?”

‘I rather have quality content than rushed one’
However, many others were supportive. “I rather have quality content than rushed one. I've seen how rushing production ruined a couple of series when covid stroke, so I have the patience for one of my fav shows :) keep the good work.” Another said, “I love that in spite of all the challenges, you’re all doing your best and still making episodes! When they’re ready, they’ll be very much appreciated - thank you!!!”
