'This is Us' Season 4 Episode 9: Pearson family's hospitality tested as unfamiliar guests come over for Thanksgiving and Rebecca goes missing

It is clear that 'This is Us' is giving us glimpses of Rebeca's dementia and in the upcoming 'So Long, Marianne' we will see a little more of this.

We are geared up for yet another amazing Thanksgiving episode from 'This is Us' and NBC is bringing it to us on Tuesday, November 19. The entire Pearson clan will come together at Randall's (Sterling K Brown) Philly home and there are going to be some guests who are not all that familiar with the traditions. We hope the holiday isn't going to be all that awkward for the family members who are meeting after a long time.

In the previously aired Season 4 Episode 8 of the show, we saw that Rebecca (Mandy Moore) has already reached Randall's home, but unlike all the other times they hang out together, things did not go all that smoothly between them. When Randall noticed and pointed out that Rebecca may be behaving unlike herself and should go to a doctor, she took offense to it and asked him not to worry about it. Things turned a little sour when Randall pointed out that he has been taking care of her whether she admits it or not, and the conversation ended with Rebecca closing the door to her bedroom on her son.

It is clear that the show is giving us glimpses of Rebeca's dementia and in the upcoming 'So Long, Marianne' we will see a little more of this. She is seen looking lost at a park when Randall leaves her a voicemail saying he is worried about her. Thanksgiving is not going to even start without Rebecca at the table, so we sure hope she makes it back on time.

Meanwhile, two new guests to the Pearson Thanksgiving lunch include Uncle Nicky (Griffin Dunne) and Deja's (Lyric Ross) mother Shauna (Joy Brunson). In the previous episode, we saw how Deja wanted to invite her mother for Thanksgiving, which Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) was happy to make happen. The relationship that the Pearsons have with Shauna is a complicated one. They know that she has made some bad choices but she prioritized her daughter's wellbeing by allowing Beth and Randall to adopt her, and for that they are grateful.

Uncle Nicky also has a similar relationship with his family, in that despite staying away for the majority of his life, he has now opened up and allowed Kevin (Justin Hartley) to get close. They have a beautiful friendship together, but it remains to be seen if the rest of the family is able to recreate it.

Season 4 Episode 9 of 'This is Us' titled 'So Long, Marianne' airs on Tuesday, November 19.
