'There's a place in hell': Shakira slams ex Gerard Pique's GF Clara Chia as she finds her 'way up' after split
BOGOTA, COLUMBIA: Shakira has continued to publicly blast at ex-Gerard Pique for cheating and his new girlfriend Clara Chia. In a recent scathing interview, the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ hitmaker explained how there is a “place in hell” for women who don't support other women. Shakira further revealed that she now has to be “stronger than a lioness” for her children.
The singer, 47, also conceded that she "bought into the story that a woman needed a man to be complete" but following the split she found herself to be "self-sufficient on her own." This comes after former Barcelona defender, 36, went Instagram official with 23-year-old Chia in January amid claims of the former cheating on the Latino singer. Pique and Shakira announced their separation back in June 2022 after 11 years together. Shakira allegedly discovered that Pique was cheating when she noticed a jar of her strawberry jam had been eaten while she was away. She addressed her split while speaking to journalist Enrique Acevedo on the Mexican channel Canal Estrellas.

'There is a place in hell'
"There is a place in hell reserved for women who don't support other women," Shakira said while adding that she has now gained “more confidence” in herself and has turned herself into a "lioness" for her two children Sasha, seven, and Milan, ten. She continued, "I bought that story, that a woman needed a man to complete herself. I also had that dream of a family where the children had a mum and dad under the same roof. You don't achieve all your dreams in life but life has a way of compensating you and I think life has certainly done it with me with the marvelous two children I have who fill me with love every day."
Following the split, Shakira claimed that she has come out "stronger." She explained, "I’ve always been emotionally quite dependent on men, I’ve fallen in love with love, and I think I’ve been able to understand that story from another perspective and today I am sufficient on my own. When a woman has to face life’s battles she comes out stronger. Now paradoxically I feel complete because I depend on myself and I have two children who depend on me and that means I have to be stronger than a lioness."
The 'Waka Waka' singer emphasized the lesson she learned after suffering through such tough times in her life. "That strength comes out of experiencing a painful loss, of accepting it, of tolerating frustration, of understanding that life doesn’t always bring us what we want. There are dreams that are broken and you have to pick up the little pieces from the ground and put yourself together again, and also be an example to my children."
"Now I’ve got more confidence in myself. I didn’t know I could end up being strong. I always thought I was more fragile. It’s true that I’ve got a bit of everything but you have to have faith," she concluded, as per the Daily Mail.
Shakira established custody agreement with Gerard Pique
The former couple established a custody agreement at a Barcelona court in November 2022. Following the legal battle, veteran family lawyer Ramon Tamborero, who represented the ex-footballer in his negotiations, insisted: "They have made a great effort for the good of their children, making sure they weren't the protagonists. Both of them have shown great intelligence."
