Sunday, February 9, is a big night for everyone. While most people are waiting for the 92nd Academy Awards, daytime television personality Wendy Williams has other plans. On Friday’s episode of ‘The Wendy Williams Show’, the 55-year-old host said she is not planning on watching the Oscars.

On her show, she asked the live studio audience to “Clap, if you intend on watching the Oscars on Sunday.” The request received some lukewarm applause. “So, here’s the deal. If you’re not,” she said pointing at herself, “There’s a new episode of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’.”

She further explained, “The Oscars are going to be another sad night, you know. Now they’re going to commemorate Kobe [Bryant] and Kirk Douglas. It’s just that I need to not be so sad.”

NBA legend Kobe Bryant, his teenage daughter Gianna, and seven other people were killed when their helicopter crashed in Calabasas, near Malibu, while en route to Camarillo Airport in Ventura County, California, near Bryant’s Mamba Sports Academy on January 26. Kirk Douglas, the iconic Hollywood actor, died on February 5 at the age of 103.

Talking about ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’, Williams said Mike and Cynthia will both open up about his past of cheating in relationships. In a clip on the show, Mike can be seen acknowledging his “transgressions” during a conversation with the couples’ loved ones.

“We caught each other at the right time. Because if [Cynthia] would've met me three years ago, it was a different life,” he said. “When I started writing the book and I got all that stuff off my chest, I realized some of the things I've done in the past has led me to doing some of the things I'm doing presently to women.”

He said it was important for him “to reveal some of these things” because he is a father to two grown-up daughters. “Their moms, I've apologized to them for the things and transgressions I've made in the past and, now, I'm just trying to do it the right way this time.”

Cynthia, however, had some reservations. “He has cheated on his wives before me. What makes me so different?” she asked during a confessional.

Williams, on her show, in answer to that question sniped, “Your b***s.” She added, however, “She got him at the right age for both of them. They’re both age-appropriate… The point is that people cheat, people are stupid, and I don’t know what you consider cheating. Some people only consider it sexual. Other people consider it a conversation of intimacy.”

‘The Wendy Williams Show’ airs every weekday at 11 am PT.
