'The Voice' Season 24: Internet calls out Huntley's performance in semifinal after singer's voice 'overpowers' teammates
UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA: During the semi-finals of 'The Voice' Season 24, Lila Forde, Mac Royals, and Huntley performed Taylor Swift's song 'Exile,' featuring Bon Iver.
However, fans expressed the opinion that Huntley's voice overshadowed the others in the performance.
The trio shared that staying together at the hotel had strengthened their bond. Huntley hinted at the anticipation by stating, "America, you have no idea what you're about to see," just before the performance.

Huntley started the song with low notes, and then Mac, showcasing his beautiful tenor, took the lead.
Lila takes on the subsequent solo, and her voice begins to ascend just before the chorus.
Interestingly, there was minimal harmony singing throughout. Finally, towards the end, their voices seamlessly blended.
Due to the limited time for rehearsal, these group numbers often appear rushed. Despite this, according to admirers, the performance had its high points.
On Reddit, fans were especially disappointed by Huntley's performance. Users wrote, "Huntley sounds awful on this song. Not a fan."
While another user chimed in, "Mac and Lila sounded amazing on Exile, I didn’t love Huntley though. I think his voice was too overpowering."
A person commented, "Can't really picture any Taylor Swift song that would work for his voice."
Another individual noted, "Huntley’s voice isn’t accurate or strong. I like him as a person, but I don’t get it, especially after comparing him to Mac and Lila."
Who is Huntley on 'The Voice' Season 24?
At the age of four, Huntley already displayed a penchant for singing and acting like Elvis, but he never took himself too seriously. It was when Huntley was fourteen, heading home from school, that a friend heard him sing and complimented him on how amazing he sounded.
After that pivotal day, Huntley made the decision to pursue music. Two years into college, he relocated to Nashville with dreams of success, although he didn't achieve the level of success he had envisioned.
Losing interest in the music industry, Huntley eventually returned to his native Virginia. In 2016, he welcomed his daughter, followed by the arrival of his son in 2021.
Due to a strained relationship with his own father, Huntley was motivated to be more involved in his children's lives. Since 2022, he has found success working as a booking agent for bands.
He has been performing five times a week around Virginia as a full-time artist since music is making a comeback in his life. He is committed to putting his family first while prioritizing music in his life.

Who is Mac Royals on 'The Voice' Season 24?
Mac was raised without his father, who spent a large portion of his youth behind bars, but he found comfort in the strong female role models in his life.
He began playing the violin in elementary school and subsequently attended Arkansas Baptist College to seek a degree in music management.
Mac honed his live performance skills at his father's R&B nightclub, which was established after his father's release from prison. In pursuit of his aspirations, Mac made a significant move to Los Angeles in 2016.
One day, Mac's friend recorded his singing at the Santa Monica Pier and shared it on Facebook. The video gained popularity, catching the attention of influential figures such as P Diddy, Andre Harrell, and Stevie Wonder, leading to collaborations.
In 2019, Mac suffered the loss of his beloved grandmother, and a year later, his father passed away. These heartbreaking events compelled Mac to temporarily put his music career on hold and return to Arkansas.
In a poignant moment, Mac had a vivid dream where his father appeared, emphasizing their military ancestry. This powerful experience fueled Mac's determination, inspiring him to further pursue his aspirations.
